For years, we have been hearing that the Visegrad Group (comprising Poland, Hungary, Czechia, and Slovakia) and Brussels hold very different positions on immigration. However, the reasons behind these differences are rarely explained; instead, the stance generally held in this part of Europe on migration tends to be oversimplified.
For this reason, I have sought to analyse the phenomenon in the Czech Republic, whose migration history differs considerably from that of other EU countries, and where the migration model is particularly oriented towards labour immigration.
