There is a difference between gaming and esports.
Esports is gaming, but gaming is not esports.
Currently, esports is a very niche category, and as much as it has promise and support, it will not grow and connect with the masses or mainstream until it’s able to connect and relate to people that are not esports fans.
Most gamers are not esports fans and that applies to the mainstream, pop-culture and the streets - they are not connected or even familiar with esports, its players, or the games.
We at The Global Gaming League are fans of esports, the gamers and the games, and agree that it can be much more successful and accepted, however, in its current form it will be difficult to gain interest from anyone not endemic to gaming.
We at The GGL will make gaming a household name like the WWE did with wrestling and the UFC did with mixed martial arts.
Karate, Ju jitsu and fighting tournaments have been around before any of us, but the majority of people never cared until there was an octagon and lights added, and called the UFC, doing something that’s been around since gladiator days.
It wasn’t a brand new idea, and was taking a great idea and understanding how to deliver it to the masses in a manner in which they could relate and cared.
This is the mission of The GGL for gaming.
Welcome to The Global Gaming League.
EVERYBODY GAMES.
