A schoolboy was reportedly "punched and kicked on the floor" today by a group of other children next to Sainsbury's in Silksworth before a woman intervened. The boy then ran away but the group gave chase.

A County Durham pensioner who was ‘struggling to manage his autistic son’s behaviour’ stabbed him in the neck with a kitchen knife during an argument.

Teesside Crown Court was told that Peter Simpson, 68, had ‘snapped’ before going to the kitchen for a knife and stabbing his adult son in the neck.

The court heard that the son has autism and ADHD and that Simpson found it difficult to cope with his behaviour.

Police had been called to his home in Stockton on multiple occasions following violent incidents from both Simpson and his son.

Simpson was sentenced to four years and five months in jail and an order was made that any future contact with his son would have to be supervised.

Researchers have discovered nearly 1.5 million pictures from specialist dating apps – many of which are explicit – have been leaked online without password protection, leaving them vulnerable to hackers and extortionists.

Anyone with the link was able to view the private photos from five platforms developed by M.A.D Mobile: kink sites B**M People and Chica, and LGBT apps Pink, Brish and Translove.

Police have raided a Quaker meeting house and arrested six women attending a gathering of the protest group Youth Demand.

More than 20 uniformed police, some equipped with Tasers, forced their way into the Westminster meeting house at 7.15pm, according to a statement by the Quakers.

“No one has been arrested in a Quaker meeting house in living memory,” said Paul Parker, the recording clerk for Quakers in Britain.

“This aggressive violation of our place of worship and the forceful removal of young people holding a protest group meeting clearly shows what happens when a society criminalises protest.

“Freedom of speech, assembly, and fair trials are an essential part of free public debate which underpins democracy.”

The US government agency that regulates television says it is opening an investigation into Disney's diversity and inclusion practices.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr sent a letter to Disney on Friday notifying the firm, and its ABC News unit, of the plan.

The motor manufacturer Hyundai faces legal action over allegations it failed to warn its customers that one of its most popular models of electric cars could be stolen “effortlessly in seconds”. Elliott Ingram, an expert in digital security, was stunned when a CCTV camera installed at his home recorded a hooded thief stealing his Hyundai Ioniq 5 car in less than 20 seconds.

The thief is believed to have used a device, available online, to mimic the car’s electronic key. It is the latest in a spate of thefts involving the vehicle, and many owners now resort to a steering lock

The UK Government will host the first international summit how to tackle people-smuggling gangs, with representatives from 40 countries set to join.

Ministers and enforcement staff from 40 countries will meet in London on Monday and Tuesday next week to discuss international co-operation, supply routes, criminal finances and online adverts for dangerous journeys.
