The beautiful USA has a deep shadow side. Because of its nature, each of us grew up in a melting pot of the world’s most traumatized people and populations all coming together, creating a society built on escapism, with coping mechanisms at the helm. An altogether new category of “Shaman” will come out of this country: ones forged in a diverse fire, who drew upon a vast melting pot of lineages and wisdom to free themselves. This is the future. The balance will be respecting and revering those ancient lineages while also realizing that it will likely (at least in large part) require those new Shamans of the west to point the way for others born of that same soup.

Your life is a living prayer. A painstaking work of art. One that, like all things, is impermanent and will one day be destroyed and return to nothing. Despite that, there’s an opportunity to paint each brush stroke with reverence, care, and love…not for a specific outcome, but for the beauty in the doing of it.

So whatever you do, do it beautifully.

It's common for folks in ayahuasca ceremonies to experience things like ego death, dissolution of self, unity, what feels like temporary enlightenment, the void, entities, and loads of other mystical and spiritual things. The Absolute is like a container within which the Relative world — the world you've come to know over the course of your life — emerges, and it is also the empty space within the container. And in order to embody the Absolute, one must let go of every thought, idea, and belief (i.e. everything Relative) that makes up this "me" that we spend our lives obsessing over. In what ways do you avoid just sitting and being? In what ways do you distract yourself from reality? Do you get lost in thought? Incessantly stare at your phone? Work too hard? Overstimulate with noise and technology? The mind is great at thinking up excuses as to why you can’t be here, now. What would happen if you put EVERYTHING (everything!) down and just sat quietly? When you really think about it, is there anything that you can ever know for sure? Anything? Your mind will likely try to point to this and that, but if you dig a little deeper, you quickly find that we can't know anything, and never have. All knowledge, scientific and otherwise, is built upon theories and beliefs. As an example: do you actually know that everything you perceive truly exists? You sure about that? Have you ever wondered if maybe you're somewhere else dreaming all this into existence? Maybe you're not, but maybe you are. There's really no way to know.
