BUILDING FIRE W/ PERSON TRAPPED - At 4:08pm Manchester Fire Department companies responded to 365 Amherst Street for a report of smoke in the building. Upon arrival, Engine 11 reported fire
showing from the rear of a three story residential building.
Crews on scene had a report that
there was someone trapped and that two victims needed support.
Immediately entering the
building crews faced heavy fire on the second floor with extreme heat conditions and no visibility. Crews stretched multiple lines and searched the entire building finding two cats and one dog. Two cats were deceased and the dog was reunited with the owner.
One of the victims suffered a fall and the other victim was transported with smoke inhalation, their condition is currently unknown.
The fire caused extensive damage to the rear 3 apartments of the 6 unit
building.
