Actual client red flags I ignored when I started because I needed the paycheck.

🚩 In a discovery meeting I was asked to explain my relationship with God.

🚩 The client makes appointments for you to be places they don’t want to go to.

🚩The client unknowingly admits his non-profit (that you are being hired to cover) is a shell company.

🚩The client tells you the same story at every meeting…and it’s about how they are a “recovering” addict.

🚩The client schedules meetings at their family compound so you can record them appearing on a virtual podcast about nepotism.

Where do we start?!?

That's the most common question I get about social media video and creating digital content.

The first thing we are going to do is an interview.

Lights, camera, action on YOU!

This accomplishes three things:

1) It allows me to connect to your story on a deeper level.
2) It makes you more comfortable talking on camera.
3) It familiarizes you with my process, right away.

I am not approaching this as your social media intern. I'm not here to make you lip sync and dance (although dancing is always big bonus points).

My goal is to take the thing you put your blood, sweat and tears into creating and treat it with the high level of respect that it deserves.

Final day filming 😴💤💤

This is my 5th season filming on the reality show “The Blox” and it’s always as hectic as it is fulfilling.

The experiences earned from this show have been immeasurably beneficial for my career.

From learning how to set up and light a full auditorium, understanding the equipment necessary to produce a full show, creating scenes wherever/whenever you possibly can, and getting the chance to sharpen my skills as an interviewer, every time I leave this experience I feel ready to take my game to the next level.

Forever learning and growing. Always.

What is Shirk Media and what do I do?

🎥 I am a videographer based in Olathe, Ks (Kansas City).

I specialize in building concepts and executing video content that promotes your business online.

What kind of videos do I shoot:

I don’t believe in “managing” your social media or editing your thoughts. I think that’s an internal job for someone that knows your business more intimately.

What I do believe in is my ability as an interviewer. After 10 years of building and conducting interviews on all different levels in the corporate world, I know how to find what matters to people.

Viral videos and trending topics are great for building an audience of viewers online. And you should do that stuff!

But…

Passion and conviction in story builds real relationships between brand and consumer.

I won’t tell anyone I won the lottery…but there will be signs.

Gear is so expensive. 💰

But, I officially have a full light kit for most video scenarios.

It’s been a long and debt filled road, but my goal is to provide top flight video services for businesses that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it.

That high price tag that comes with website videos, testimonials and regular social content leaves a lot of startups searching for limited deals (Groupon) and subpar work.

I have no interest in my invoice being an additional point of stress for people who are trying to grow a business. Because I’m right there with you.
