Ireland play England at Landsdowne Road today and amid all the discussions about Declan Rice getting booed, I was thinking about how Irish identity and in particular about how it is experienced by those of us abroad and our children.
I'm always reminded of Morag Prunty and how her show "Am I Irish Yet?" put a lot of it into perspective for me. Being Irish is no single defined thing; instead, it is a palette of experiences and inheritances to which all our children lay claim, to whatever degree they want.

Saddened to hear of the passing of the great Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, a great friend of Stockholm GAA when we were starting off, very generously writing the foreword for a book about it that put us and European GAA on the map.
He was a regular visitor to the Asian Games too and really understood what our games mean to those of us who live abroad - his support for clubs abroad opened the eyes of many in Croke Park, which in turn has led to better funding over the years.
One of our proudest days as a club was in Leuven, Belgium back in 2011 when he came to watch us play in a European game and took this photo with us.
But most of all, his voice wafted through the radio of my childhood, and over the internet to my various homes in Stockholm, first introducing me to the games, and then keeping me hooked in the crook of his wonderful storytelling.
An absolute gentleman, and his love of the games, our language and culture should be an inspiration to all of us.
