You know, I’ve come to realize that it’s really not easy to be someone like Sir Wicknell People only seem to appreciate him when he gives to those they personally like or support. But the moment he helps someone outside their preferences, suddenly he’s called names and criticized.

Imagine being hated just for using your own money the way you choose. I know some people might insult me for saying this, but I’ve observed something powerful about Sir Wicknell the man is not tribalistic.

I remember when our beloved Highlanders Football Club was in trouble I’m not sure whether it was a ban or an issue with payments, but he stepped in and covered the outstanding money owed to a coach. Just recently, he donated close to 1 million USD to the same club.

Look at his support for the Joshua Nkomo Foundation, and the way he remembers and supports celebrities from Matebeleland. He’s not focused on one group he’s doing his best to unite people through giving.

Honestly, what he’s doing is something we’ve never really seen before in our country. He deserves to be appreciated, not torn down.

TRAGIC ACCIDENT CLAIMS 17 LIVES ON SEKE ROAD

HARARE — A dark cloud has settled over Zimbabwe following a devastating road accident along Seke Road today, where 17 people tragically lost their lives.

According to early reports, the fatal crash occurred when a haulage truck collided head-on with a Toyota Hiace commuter omnibus. The impact was so severe that most of the victims are believed to have died on the spot, while several others sustained serious injuries.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrifying, with wreckage strewn across the road and emergency responders rushing to assist the wounded and retrieve bodies.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the collision, but early indications suggest speeding or brake failure could have played a role. Police have urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads, especially during peak traffic hours.

Our hearts go out to the families of the deceased. Zimbabwe mourns with you.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace.

Bulawayo Man Loses 70K Car and Cash After One-Night Stand

A 37-year-old Bulawayo man was left stunned after a one-night stand with a 22-year-old woman ended in theft. Nicole Dube of New Parklands allegedly stole his Toyota Tundra worth US70,000 and US$1,000 in cash while he slept at his Khumalo home on July 15.

Police say Dube vanished with the items and later crashed the Tundra near Chicken Inn in town before returning to attempt stealing a second car. A vigilant gardener spotted her, and she was caught trying to flee.

Police urge the public to be cautious of who they bring into their private space.
