As the world pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II who joined her husband in the world beyond, today, we look at their unadulterated love at first sight that became 73 years of matrimony!

HOW THEY MET:
The Queen and Prince Philip first met in 1934 at Elizabeth’s uncle’s wedding to Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark. She was 8 and he was 13, and it was love at first sight!

Three years later, they crossed paths at the Royal Naval College in Devon and the attraction only grew. In a pre-digital era, she had his photo on the wall of her room, and they exchanged letters. When they met, she could not take her eyes off him.
