First breakdown of 2026!
A little while ago I had the pleasure of working with cinematographer NSC and the lovely people from .amsterdam on this commercial for . They found this beautifull restaurant in the heart of The Hague. With some extra magic from the art department we found ourselfs in an authentic Italian restaurant.
It was so cool to light this space with all those different textures and colors.

We see Frieda and hikko at the dinertable, they pray and eat their diner. An argument ensues...

This location was so fun to light! How do you light a space with little to no windows? Fake windows ofcourse! By shooting an .lighting 600d pro into a high mounted 50x50 diff 3, it looks like a beam of light shines through a high window. We repeated the same idea with 600x @ 5000k into a 50x50 diff 2 shooting through the back window.
A 60x @ fire effect + 1/1 CTO bounces into a bounce card for a little warm fire light fill.

A bit of storytelling was added to the lighting design, frieda is sitting in the beam of light. Throughout the film she finds her "light side". Hikko is in the dark, he stays behind in the old ways.
