We are celebrating 50 YEARS of Palmer’s Minerva Bowl!

On this day 50 years ago, Bill and Beverlee Palmer purchased Minerva Bowl from Dick and Sue Mount in 1975.

Being built in 1947, it is on record as the oldest bowling alley in Stark County, getting to 78 years old this year. It is also still a family-owned bowling alley.

Congratulations!!

You are cordially invited to attend a very unique fundraising event on April 12, 2025 that we are calling “Twain by Two – An Evening of Mark Twain.”

Twain will indeed come alive at the Roxy Theater in Minerva, Ohio as the Largely Literary Theater Company co-founders Mark Dawidziak and Sara Showman present a two-act collection of material written by Mark Twain.

Mark Dawidziak, an internationally recognized Mark Twain scholar, has been portraying the iconic American author on stage for 46 years. Sara Showman plays pretty much everybody else in the show that features excerpts from Huckleberry Finn, Eve's Diary and many other Twain works.

Dawidziak and Showman have taken their Twain show to such venues as the Thurber House in Columbus, Ohio, the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, Connecticut, the Center for Mark Twain Studies in Elmira, New York, and the historic Barter Theatre in Abgindon, Virginia.

The doors of the Roxy will open at 6:00 p.m. when a selection of heavy hors d'oeuvres and decadent desserts from local restaurants will be served. The performance of Twain By Two will start at 7 p.m. Admission for this fundraising event is $50 per person or $75 per couple.

You can support this event in two ways: first, you can join us on April 12. Admission is $50 per person or $75 per couple. Second, you can be a sponsor of the event.
