A greedy and selfish leader is more dangerous than poison.

There politicians in northwestern who are slowly tying their political su***de rope in the neck because of wanting to hold on to all positions.

No man is an Island and no man stands alone so they say. Let me take time to remind those who have taken a swipe of wanting everything to themselves that too much of everything amounts to nothing.

When PF was ruling many northwestern people cried foul and those then in opposition cried to the people to vote for them so that development can be brought in various communities. People listened, party members worked hard, friends for UPND worked under ground to see to it that UPND was ushered into office.

This all was done to make sure change came. Indeed change came and those who were selected in various positions got a chance to be elected in various positions. Some got positions of MP, Mayor, Council Chairperson, Councillors and so on. This shift also paved way for those in part structures to be elevated to PS, DPS and DC. The elevation of these people left vacancies in the party structure and these should be filled up by those who had not been chosen to serve in government structures.

It's so disheartening to see those holding on to busy office still wanting to continue running or being elected in vacant positions at party level. How can you hold on to all positions both in government and party level?

What will be left for those loyal party officials who worked tirelessly to see that you are elected?

Let me start by giving an example of a Mayor. This office is busy. The position accounts for total dedication to duty because electorates are looking for promises to be fulfilled. Another example is that an MP his got the constituency to run and his or her office is busy because this is a public office that needs so much attention.

It is therefore not normal to hear a Mayor wanting to contest for a position of youth chairman or an MP wanting to be the provincial youth chairman. These positions must be left for those with time in party structures to continue strengthening party structures will those serving in public office keep delivering on promises.

If those in elected positions still want to scramble for party positions what will remain for party loyalists?

Learn to love your brothers and sisters who suffered to see you elected. Learn to relinquish some of the loads for others to take up the mantle.

If northwestern is to see development, the level of greediness for those taking lead must be brought down. Team work promotes a good atmosphere. It's to early for you to start building cartels. Stop shooting each other down. Promote the culture of upgrading each other. You move up make your brother or sister take up the challenge you left.

Learn the culture in figurative race where all must be called winners!

UPND learn to love one another especially in northwestern. A lot of people suffered humiliation just to see you in power. Being on top doesn't mean you know it all, always take this to mind. On your way up remember the ladder you used, you will need it on your way down. Don't burn bridges! Those you want to disadvantage now are a bridge you would want to use in the five years to come.

Time waits for no one! Concentrate on working than scrambling for party positions!

WHY DID MR MULUSA AND MR MUNYOMPE DECIDE TO VISIT THE CHIEF AT NIGHT WOTH PARTY CADRES

UPND north western provincial chairperson Stafford mulusa together with the newly appointed district commissioner Mr Elijah Munyompe were 2 days ago chased from chief chizela’s palace by the community on allegations that Honourable mulusa was behind the appointment of Mr Munyompe which resulted in the firing of Mr kalelemba as district commissioner.

THE BIG QUESTION IS, WHY DID THE UPND PROVINCIAL CHAIRMAN MR MULUSA AND THE MUFUMBWE DISTRICT COMMISSIONER DECIDE TO VISIT THE CHIEF AT NIGHT AROUND 21:00hrs?..WHAT WERE THEY SCARED OF DURING THE DAY?

From our traditional and cultural desk!

Politicians learn to respect Chiefs! A palace is not a place to play from, it's not a political ground but a place where cultural values and norms are upheld.

Overtime chiefs across the country have been abused by politicians who get drunk with political positions. One thing they forget is chiefs are installed through lineage and not chosen by chance or lucky. Before politics chiefs existed and governed there people since ancient times.

Information getting to our desk is very disturbing and a sign of disrespect for our traditional rulers. It's quiet unusual for a politician to think of visiting a senior chief around 21:00hrs with an entourage including cadres. A palace is like state house, you can't visit state house unannounced even when you are a known figure.

What happened in Mufumbwe must not be repeated Senior Chief Kizela is a noble man who should not be dragged into mud. His stayed away from politics for many years, he does so because he knows he presides over people with different political stance.

You cannot expect to meet a chief in the late hours of the night no matter your political position. Yes we witnessed abuse of chiefs in the past regime. Those politicians who lost power in August thought chiefs are not to be considered see where they are now.

Governments change but traditional rulership remains. I commend Mufumbwe youths for standing to protect the sovereignty of traditional rulership. They braved in and made sure Chief Kizela was not disturbed in the late hours. Whoever politician that wants to see the chief must make prior arrangements and visit him during the day. He has so much to preside over during the course of the day, night is for him to rest

Mfumu kechi wakukaisha ne tupane mushingi kukipango (A chief is not one to joke with, let's give respect to the palace).

Almost all Zambian tribes have much respect for chiefdom rulership. Only those lacking cultural morals stand to think there political stance and position can override respect accorded to chiefs.

The disrespect our various traditional rulers experienced during the past regime must not be tolerated in this government. We know we have a lot of selfish people wanting to attain their selfish desires by manipulating our chiefs or dragging them in mud, we shall not allow that.

Anyone wanting to see the chief must come during the day so that traditional council personnel should present. There is no emergency in meeting the chief.
Let politicians desist from this habit.

Once again we commend Mufumbwe youths for braving out to show politicians chiefs must be respected.

This is a measure for all to be misguided by power that maybe.
