As Juneteenth comes to a close, I saw this great post by a fellow L&D nurse. Those who know me know I wholeheartedly believe in every woman’s right to great care during their labors/delivery/postpartum. I’ve done tons of research and have experienced racial disparity in my specialty, and hope change can continue!

This shows a rough description of how dilated your cervix gets in labor, and what we are checking for when you’re in labor. Did you know that you have a choice in labor NOT to get a cervical exam? While it can be helpful (at times) to help monitor your labor progression, it is not always 100% necessary. Keep yourself informed, and always make sure your healthcare provider is educating you on your choices and you keep yourself educated as well!

Very quickly after Emilia's death I realized how important memorial items were to me - a necklace with her name on it, butterfly decorations EVERYWHERE around the house, a shirt with her handprint on it. These items have stayed important to me. They help keep her a part of my life, and sometimes they spark conversations with others which allow me to share her story.

All of our products will be provided at-cost to bereaved parents, we will charge only for the materials and shipping. Our hope is to provide a high quality product at the lowest possible price, so as to not withhold such items from people with financial need.
