Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

Do not fear!

Deuteronomy 1:21 Look! HE has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the LORD, the GOD of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!’

Don’t be afraid!
Or one with similar meaning is the most repeated commands in scripture.

365 times, one for each day of the year, we are told as believers that GOD sees us, knows us and definitely is for us.

Then why do we still walk in fear?

We tend to fear so many things.

It’s in the challenging of HIS people to a new course of action that GOD insists that we cast away our fears.
GOD is actually saying,” Trust ME, I will not fail you!”

When we remember to focus away from our circumstances and toward GOD and HIS Might, HIS Power, and the fact that HE is the CREATOR and that…

Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with GOD.”

…then there is no room for fear!

Even when we fail HIM, our relationship with GOD is certain because it’s based upon GOD‘s compassion for us, even when we don’t necessarily deserve it.

HE has provided a means for our relationship to be reconciled because of HIS Love for us, through the BLOOD of HIS SON, JESUS!

John 3:17 GOD sent HIS SON into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through HIM.

GOD is faithful!

We can be sure HE will come through for us, when we obey HIS Will for our lives.

1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim HIS Greatness.
Let the whole world know what HE has done.
9 Sing to HIM; yes, sing HIS praises.
Tell everyone about HIS wonderful deeds.
10 Exult in HIS HOLY Name;
rejoice, you who worship the LORD.
11 Search for the LORD and for HIS strength;
continually seek HIM.
12 Remember the wonders HE has performed,
HIS miracles, and the rulings HE has given,

Just trust and obey!

When GOD says “Be still.”
Then be still.
HIS timing is essential and beyond your control.

When GOD says, “Move!”
Then even the mountains can’t be still!

Nothing can stop HIS Mighty Hand!

We will be the conquerors in all circumstances when we trust GOD!

How can we hear HIS Voice?

Listen.

Only through CHRIST JESUS can we thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

The thinkers of the world.

Paul had his work cut out for him.

Have you ever truly notice GOD prepares those HE has called into HIS service?

If the LORD sent someone less articulate or with, let’s say, less polish, then those in Athens probably would not have given audience to Paul’s rhetoric.

Acts 17:19 Then they took him to the high council of the city. “Come and tell us about this new teaching,” they said.
20 “You are saying some rather strange things, and we want to know what it’s all about.”
21 (It should be explained that all the Athenians as well as the foreigners in Athens seemed to spend all their time discussing the latest ideas.)

The LORD had gone long before Paul and prepared the audience to receive the words and knowledge of GOD’s forgiveness and salvation.

Trust that when GOD sends you into the highways and byways HE has prepared your path long before you begin your journey.

Paul shared the Good News with the intellectuals and the philosophers in their marketplace and was given an opportunity to speak before the Athenian council, the Areopagus.

What an amazing opportunity for Paul in his ministry!

Acts 17:22 So Paul, standing before the council, addressed them as follows: “Men of Athens, I notice that you are very religious in every way,
23 for as I was walking along I saw your many shrines. And one of your altars had this inscription on it: ‘To an Unknown God.’ This GOD, whom you worship without knowing, is the ONE I’m telling you about.

See how GOD had made it possible and prepared the way?

Verse 24 “HE is the GOD who made the world and everything in it. Since HE is LORD of Heaven and earth, HE doesn’t live in man-made temples,
25 and human hands can’t serve HIS needs—for HE has no needs. HE HIMSELF gives life and breath to everything, and HE satisfies every need.

We serve a GOD that we can fully trust and depend on that chooses to be an integral part of our lives.

GOD isn’t a distant and uninvolved entity.

HE knows each of us personally.

HIS Love, Grace, Mercy and forgiveness was displayed on that cross as HE revealed HIMSELF through CHRIST JESUS.

We, such as Paul in his day, have been commissioned to share HIS Good News!

GOD has an audience designed for each of us.
HE has already prepared us for our purpose. HE has already laid the path before us.

All we have to do is obey HIS HOLY SPIRIT in us at the right time.

We may not all be Smith Wigglesworth or Billy Graham’s, yet we are all given the opportunities to share HIS Love through us.

Our opportunity may come as changing a strangers tire, or getting a haircut, even as simple as inviting someone to a church function.

It may even come as buying a vehicle.

Each appointment set is an opportunity to be taken.

GOD has given us the opportunity to witness in the highways and byways, the question is:

Will you or do you obey?

Give the LORD praise that the person who shared with you GOD’s Love, which ultimately led you to your repentance and acceptance, obeyed those same promptings of GOD’s HOLY SPIRIT.

The LORD prepared your heart (soil) in advance for HIS obedient servant (sower) to share (spread) so that you could understand (accept) HIS WORD (SEED) that you may be saved (harvested) and brought into HIS KINGDOM (HIS Glorious Presence) forevermore!

Beautiful HALLELUJAH moments by GOD!

Only through HIS SON, JESUS will we thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

What more do you want?!

What more must you see?

What more do you need to hear?

Luke 11:16 Others, trying to test JESUS, demanded that HE show them a miraculous sign from Heaven to prove HIS authority.

Their reaction to everything they heard, the very reason the crowds constantly surrounded JESUS everywhere HE went, was the miracles.

What they might get.
What they might see.

They treated JESUS like a magician doing stunts and tricks.

Not the WHO HE was, is, and always will be.

Luke 11:29 As the crowd pressed in on JESUS, HE said, “This evil generation keeps asking ME to show them a miraculous sign. But the only sign I will give them is the sign of Jonah.
30 What happened to him was a sign to the people of Nineveh that GOD had sent him. What happens to the SON of MAN will be a sign to these people that HE was sent by GOD.

Swallowed by a whale and brought straight to their shores and spit out.

Nineveh a place so sinful and evil that their reputation still stands throughout history.

And through the sermon of a reluctant prophet (surely not the best sermon) still opened their eyes, ears and heart to a GOD that forgives.

JESUS used that example for reason.

Yet they, HIS chosen people were still blind to the Truth standing in front of them.

Even the Queen of Sheba from a far land traveled to Jerusalem because of what she had heard. Seeking Truth of a CREATOR that forgives and rewards with wisdom beyond normal comprehension.

Verse 31 “The Queen of Sheba will stand up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Now someone greater than Solomon is here—but you refuse to listen.

Can you hear?
Can you see?
Can you feel what they couldn’t?

Do you know or just know of, the JESUS of which is spoken?

Does that “knowledge” overflow to the point that your mouth doesn’t ever shut up about HIM and HIS forgiveness and Glory?

Verse 32 The people of Nineveh will also stand up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, for they repented of their sins at the preaching of Jonah. Now someone greater than Jonah is here—but you refuse to repent.

Don’t let your life be judged by the people that had no CHRIST to see or LORD GOD that led them through the wilderness to witness by sight HIS Greatness and HIS Glory.

Don’t let the pre-flood people that heard and turned away from Noah’s preaching judge you.

Or the ones from S***m and Gomorrah that Lot’s wife turned to see being destroyed, cry at your ignorance.

They had no written WORD to warn them.
They had no CHRIST JESUS telling them they must repent.

Even these that stood in HIS presence and didn’t understand then, are screaming the Truth now from their torment, knowing their cries of repentance will not be heard for all of eternity.

Can you hear that?
Can you hear the ticking of the clock?
Tick, tick, tick…

Time is running out.

If not now then when?

Repent.

Repent until it bubbles up out of your soul like a stream bubbling up out of the ground.
Cleansing you from every sin and every influence of the enemy.

Let CHRIST JESUS pour HIS HOLY SPIRIT into your heart until you can no longer contain the joy internally and it pours out onto others as it did for Peter.

Let HIM fill you with HIS LIGHT until you glow eternally drawing others to HIM through your witness of HIS LOVE.

Only through uncompromising, faith and full repentance to CHRIST JESUS can we achieve victory over all sin.

Only through JESUS will we thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good afternoon Brothers and Sisters!

HE set me free!

🎶🎶 Once like a bird in prison I dwelt, no freedom from my sorrow I felt, but JESUS came and listened to me, and Glory to GOD HE set me free!

Now I am climbing higher each day, darkness of night has faded away, my feet are planted on higher ground and Glory to GOD I’m homeward bound!

Goodbye to sin and things that confound, naught of this world shall turn me around, daily I’m working, and I’m praying too and Glory to GOD I’m going through!

HE set me free, yes, HE set me free.

HE broke the bonds of prison for me.

I’m glory bound my JESUS to see, for Glory to GOD, HE set me free!

Before reading please take a minute and really read the words of this song.

Sometimes I think we forget or take for granted that we have been made free.

Romans 8:1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to CHRIST JESUS.
2 And because you belong to HIM, the power of the life-giving SPIRIT has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

Definitely a HALLELUJAH moment with the revelation of freedom through CHRIST!

Romans 1:5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the HOLY SPIRIT think about things that please the SPIRIT.

Either we have the SPIRIT of GOD living in us, or we don’t.

GOD gives us HIS HOLY SPIRIT when we fully turn our lives over to HIM.

Following the promptings of the HOLY SPIRIT ensures walking in obedience.

Obedience is how we show CHRIST we love HIM.

Once we recognize how helpless we are to fight our own sinful nature, the next step is to look outside ourselves to GOD for the power we need.

James 4:7 So humble yourselves before GOD. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come close to GOD, and GOD will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between GOD and the world.

When we focus our complete energies to doing (yes, doing! see James 2:23) what the WORD says with the intention to bring Glory to GOD in all things, the desires to sin fade away.

Not the temptations but the desires.

Because we know, to Glorify GOD is freedom from sin!

Through the freedom in CHRIST we will thrive in ’25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

When all seems too much to bear.

We tend to face problems each day. Those problems force a reaction from us each time. They either push us closer to GOD, seeking an answer or they cause us to fall farther away from HIM, trying to do it ourselves.

David knew the right path, but that didn’t mean HE made the right choice every time he faced trouble, often he learned by going the wrong way, realizing it and turning back to GOD’s path with true repentance in his heart.

Whether we notice or not, GOD is with us at all times.

Sometimes it’s best to slow our roll and take a minute before we react.

Psalms 46:10 “Be still, and know that I AM GOD!…

David knew that…

Psalms 62:1 I wait quietly before GOD,
for my victory comes from HIM.

When we place our full trust in only HIM, we know without reservation that all of our victories in life are found in HIM.

Verse 2 HE alone is my Rock and my Salvation,
my Fortress where I will never be shaken.

The foundation of my faith is my trust in HIS SOVEREIGNTY.

Verse 3 So many enemies against one man—
all of them trying to kill me.
To them I’m just a broken-down wall
or a tottering fence.

Enemies come from every angle, demonic warfare is the battle we face daily. How much pressures and troubles of life are just little attacks from our souls enemy?

Verse 4 They plan to topple me from my high position.
They delight in telling lies about me.
They praise me to my face
but curse me in their hearts.

We must stand firm unwavering in the truth of our faith of the MOST HIGH SOVEREIGN LORD of all!

Verse 5 Let all that I am wait quietly before GOD,
for my hope is in HIM.

HE is my foundation of the hope that strengthens my faith.

Verse 6 HE alone is my Rock and my Salvation,
my Fortress where I will not be shaken.
7 My victory and honor come from GOD alone.
HE is my Refuge, a Rock where no enemy can reach me.

I can trust in HIS protection. I can use my trials to bring me closer to HIM. I can see HIS Hand holding me up when I have no strength left.

Verse 8 O my people, trust in HIM at all times.
Pour out your heart to HIM,
for GOD is our Refuge.

Brothers and Sisters listen!

Trust fully in the LORD! Claim protection from the LORD on HIS Throne!
See that it cannot be made by your own hand, only through HIS Mercy!

Verse 9 Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind,
and the powerful are not what they appear to be.
If you weigh them on the scales,
together they are lighter than a breath of air.

Trust in GOD the CREATOR not the creation!

Verse 10 Don’t make your living by extortion
or put your hope in stealing.
And if your wealth increases,
don’t make it the center of your life.

Being content and in all things learning to give GOD the praise!
You have nothing but troubles by your own hand!
All blessings large or small come from the LORD!

Verse 11 GOD has spoken plainly,
and I have heard it many times:
Power, O GOD, belongs to YOU;

Move away from the noise and distractions of this world and listen quietly while waiting for the LORD’s answer.

Verse 12 unfailing Love, O LORD, is YOURs.
Surely YOU repay all people
according to what they have done.

Yes, HE will.

Live as though the day you must stand before the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY will be tomorrow.

My choice today is to live my life for HIS Glory rather than man’s glory.

In CHRIST JESUS I will thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

Stay close.

Psalms 61:1 O God, listen to my cry!
Hear my prayer!
2 From the ends of the earth,
I cry to you for help
when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
3 for you are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
4 Let me live forever in your sanctuary,
safe beneath the shelter of your wings!

Wherever we are, whatever the circumstances that we face, we can turn to GOD for help.

HE is always watching over us, as the SHEPHERD watches over HIS flock.

Keeping us from danger even in times that we don’t notice.

We can ask the LORD for help with confidence because HE has repeatedly delivered HIS people.

HE is our Loving PROTECTOR.

Psalms 61:5 For YOU have heard my vows, O GOD.
YOU have given me an inheritance reserved for those who fear YOUR Name.
6 Add many years to the life of the king!
May his years span the generations!
7 May he reign under GOD’s protection forever.
May YOUR unfailing Love and faithfulness watch over HIM.
8 Then I will sing praises to YOUR Name forever
as I fulfill my vows each day.

The LORD blesses us and gives us meaningful lives, helping us fulfill our vows to live for HIM day by day.

When we reside in HIS strength and HIS endurance daily, we can face each problem and temptation in confidence that HE is with us at all times.

John 15:4 Remain in ME, and I will remain in you.

Staying close to JESUS allows us to thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

Personal morality.

This morning while reading in Numbers I came across the story of Balaam.

The king of Moab, Balak, sent for Balaam to keep the Israelites from crossing their land.

It’s an interesting story.

Numbers 22: …So Balak, king of Moab,
5 sent messengers to call Balaam son of Beor, who was living in his native land of Pethor near the Euphrates River. His message said: “Look, a vast horde of people has arrived from Egypt. They cover the face of the earth and are threatening me.
6 Please come and curse these people for me because they are too powerful for me. Then perhaps I will be able to conquer them and drive them from the land. I know that blessings fall on any people you bless, and curses fall on people you curse.”

Balaam reputation was known throughout the land.

GOD told him no.

Verse 12 But GOD told Balaam, “Do not go with them. You are not to curse these people, for they have been blessed!”

That should have been enough.

But, the enemy is relentless in his pursuit to tempt us to go against GOD’s WORD.

The right temptation and then the motivation finally came.

Verse 16 They went to Balaam and delivered this message to him: “This is what Balak son of Zippor says: Please don’t let anything stop you from coming to help me.
17 I will pay you very well and do whatever you tell me. Just come and curse these people for me!”

The enemy sends the message, what will it take for you to fold?

Verse 20 That night GOD came to Balaam and told him, “Since these men have come for you, get up and go with them. But do only what I tell you to do.”

GOD knows our every thought, why do we think we can slip one past HIM?

21 So the next morning Balaam got up, saddled his donkey, and started off with the Moabite officials.
22 But GOD was angry that Balaam was going, so he sent the angel of the LORD to stand in the road to block his way.

GOD even sent an angel of the LORD to block Balaam’s path while he was headed there on his donkey, when the donkey, not Balaam, saw the angel it stopped.

Think about this story when you’re headed some where and your car breaks down.

Is the LORD blocking my way?

Am I doing the wrong thing for wrong reason?

The donkeys response, yes I said response…

Verse 22: Then the LORD gave the donkey the ability to speak. “What have I done to you that deserves your beating me three times?” it asked Balaam.

Wow! Just wow!

31 Then the LORD opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the roadway with a drawn sword in his hand. Balaam bowed his head and fell face down on the ground before him.

Like I said, remember this story next time your anger flares at your car. And if your car starts talking… repent immediately! Just saying…

Balaam’s true motive wasn’t doing the LORD’s work but the “monetary gain”.

The greediness of our desires are often the motivation that we tend to follow in even doing a “good deed” that the LORD placed on our heart to do.

Do we think…

What’s in it for me?

What do I gain by doing this?

GOD sees the motives of the heart. We can’t hide anything from the LORD.

It will cost us in the long run.

From this story we are reminded even following the greatest of human wisdom we may be led by our own spiritual blindness.

True wisdom to face life’s every situation comes only from the SOVEREIGN All Knowing GOD.

Religious show without genuine devotion leads to tragedy.

Jude 1:11 What sorrow awaits them! For they follow in the footsteps of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they deceive people for money. And like Korah, they perish in their rebellion.

Again I say, the LORD knows your heart, which holds your personal morality.

Numbers 31:1 Then the LORD said to Moses,
2 “On behalf of the people of Israel, take revenge on the Midianites for leading them into idolatry. After that, you will die and join your ancestors.”

The time to pay has come…

Verse 8 All five of the Midianite kings—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.

The similarities should remind us of the importance of the desires of our heart and the consequences thereof.

Balaam’s heard the voice of the LORD.

Judas walked with the CHRIST.

Both sold out for monetary gain that cost them not only their lives but their eternity as well.

David gives us the key…

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O GOD.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11 Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your HOLY SPIRIT from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.

In CHRIST alone we will thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

Steadfastness.

firmness in purpose, resolution, faith, attachment, etc.:

Do you consider yourself steadfast?

Steadfast in faith?

No waiver, no doubts, confident to a point of no compromise in your faith?

Anyone that has been a believer for any length of time has had friends and family fall away and loose faith or be mislead by “new” beliefs.

Therefore we should be able to understand the dilemma that Paul faced in Galatians.

Tweaked narratives and teachings.

Learning that arguing isn’t the way to convince someone that they are incorrectly interpreting scripture.

Any married person knows that arguing accomplishes nothing good.

It’s very hard to be truthful about the Truth, it’s harsh and it doesn’t lead to compromising or allowing our personal agendas to interfere, we cannot be anymore sensitive than Paul, about the outcome when sharing the Truth of the Good News of CHRIST JESUS.

Galatians 1:6 I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from GOD, who called you to HIMSELF through the loving mercy of CHRIST. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News
7 but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning CHRIST.
8 Let GOD’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from Heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.
9 I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.
10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of GOD. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be CHRIST’s servant.

How are we to be able to discern what is a false narrative and the Truth.

GOD gave us HIS WORD to hold, to study, to use as a guide, to have an understanding of the HIS direction so that we couldn’t be misled from the one and only Truth.

Also to use as a mirror to see our lifetime of decisions reflected for our viewing through the lens of HIS Glorious Truth.

We must take the initiative and the time to have a personal relationship with GID’s WORD.

How can we be defenders of the WORD if we have no idea what it says?

Contrary to the old movie’s comment; we are to “handle the Truth” and share it with others every where, every day.

Verse 11 Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning.
12 I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from JESUS CHRIST.

We have the Bible to share with others, our work is much easier than the work of the apostles.

Why do we find it so difficult to share GOD’s Glorious Truth?

It is to be an honor.

Only by sharing the Truth of JESUS we will thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

I have the most fantastic news to report…

…JESUS Loves you!

Personal troubles come and go, some brought on by the consequences of our own actions, some simply by choices we made in haste or even by others choices.

Sometimes they have a way of causing the most resilient among us to doubt our calling or our faith, even to the point of doubting GOD.

Praise the LORD, we have our HIGH PRIEST, JESUS, that understands our weaknesses.

Hebrews 4:14 So then, since we have a great HIGH PRIEST who has entered Heaven, JESUS the SON of GOD, let us hold firmly to what we believe.
15 This HIGH PRIEST of ours understands our weaknesses, for HE faced all of the same testings we do, yet HE did not sin.
16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious GOD. There we will receive HIS Mercy, and we will find Grace to help us when we need it most.

Turning to HIM in times of trouble is exactly the example JESUS left us.

So, if we are to emulate JESUS, do we stay faithful and true in our diligence and practice what HE practiced?

Luke 4:42 Early the next morning JESUS went out to an isolated place. …

The question is how much time do you set aside daily to strengthen your soul?

Do you have balance?

Between work, kids, dinner, chores, church activities, working out physically, learning new things, do you actually emulate JESUS and isolate yourself with just GOD and HIS WORD?

Do you actually spend time listening to GOD with your mouth shut?

HE is a willing teacher, when you make time for HIM.

It’s your assignment to “be like, love like, and act like JESUS.”

So you too can finish out this verse.

Luke 4:42…The crowds searched everywhere for HIM, and when they finally found HIM, they begged HIM not to leave them.
43 But HE replied, “I must preach the Good News of the KINGDOM of GOD in other towns, too, because that is why I was sent.”

HE was sent.
You are called.

Mark 16:15 And then HE told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.

HE sent HIS HOLY SPIRIT to give you the WORD to learn and to use as the guide for your life.

Not for self improvement alone but to share the Truth of HIS Love for the world.

Luke 5:18 “The SPIRIT of the LORD is upon ME,
for HE has anointed ME to bring Good News to the poor.
HE has sent ME to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.”

{captives: those bound by the chains of their sinful nature.
Blind: those that only see with their physical eyes and not their Spiritual eyes.
Oppressed: held down by the thoughts of not being worthy or able.}

How do I know this is a directive and not a statement of declaration of HIS ministry alone?

HIS commandments alone encourages me in HIS Truth.

Love GOD with all your heart, mind and soul.

Love others as HE has Love me.

Added to HIS promise…

John 14:12 “I tell you the Truth, anyone who believes in ME will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the FATHER.
13 You can ask for anything in MY Name, and I will do it, so that the SON can bring glory to the FATHER.
14 Yes, ask ME for anything in MY Name, and I will do it!

How can I love others and not love them enough to tell them HIS Truth?

We are all called to the ministry of Heaven and sharing the Truth.

Emulate JESUS.

Listen and HE will tell you.
Seek and HE will show you.
Ask and it will be given to you.

It’s your calling too!

Through sharing JESUS’ Love, we will thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters!

Rebellion

Do you realize that in the simplicity of the word, “no”, you can be held accountable for rebellion against GOD.

We tend to forget that, don’t we?

As a parent you may understand; one of the first things an infant utters is “no!”

Mostly because they hear the parent say “no!” as a warning to them, but it’s at that moment the child learns to rebel against the authority of the parent.

The more it’s allowed without consequences the more likely that behavior continues as the child ages.

We do that same thing to GOD, our FATHER.

Don’t deny it!

GOD’s HOLY SPIRIT prompts us to do or say or pray or witness or serve or sing or testify … and we say “no!”

That’s rebellion.

Today’s example is found in…

Numbers 20:2 There was no water for the people to drink at that place, so they rebelled against Moses and Aaron.

The people were thirsty and started that complaining and murmuring as they did so often.

So Moses and Aaron got together and consulted GOD.

Go to GOD with the problem that you’re facing.

Excellent example that we should follow on every detail of our life.

Verse 6 Moses and Aaron turned away from the people and went to the entrance of the Tabernacle, where they fell face down on the ground. Then the glorious presence of the LORD appeared to them,
7 and the LORD said to Moses,
8 “You and Aaron must take the staff and assemble the entire community. As the people watch, speak to the rock over there, and it will pour out its water. You will provide enough water from the rock to satisfy the whole community and their livestock.”

GOD tells them, as the entire people watch, “speak to that rock and it will pour out its water…”

What would have happened had Moses did exactly what GOD had said?

We’ll never know.

Why didn’t he?

I believe anger got the best of him. Imagine over half a million of the most ungrateful people relying on you to petition GOD for their needs to be fulfilled,
grumbling and complaining in that murmuring buzz of sound that would unhinge most of us in three seconds or less, griping and complaining and questioning.

I can’t imagine being in a class room with 30 kids and Moses and Aaron were dealing with over half a million in the wilderness!

So what did Moses do that was rebellious?

He didn’t speak to the rock, he struck the rock.

Verse 9 So Moses did as he was told. He took the staff from the place where it was kept before the LORD.
10 Then he and Aaron summoned the people to come and gather at the rock. “Listen, you rebels!” he shouted. “Must we bring you water from this rock?”
11 Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with the staff, and water gushed out. So the entire community and their livestock drank their fill.

Must we!?

It was to show Glory for GOD, not the power of man!

He took credit from and disobeyed GOD out of anger and frustration.

Now imagine how many times we have done the same thing.

Instead of people grumbling and complaining, it’s the buzz of wife, husband, kids, bosses, bills, collectors, repairs, work pressures, car problems … all troubles that come and distract our attention from the directions GOD tries to tell us in HIS very WORD!

Trust HIM, HE’s got this!

Let ME (GOD) show you MY infinite power and might through your time in the wilderness of learning!

Your infanthood!
Your childhood of growing in your faith!

Trust and obey!
Listen to HIS voice not the noise of the world.

There are consequences for disobedience and rebellion.

Even Moses, a man that was a friend to GOD had to suffer the consequences of his actions.

(HE wasn’t allowed to enter the Promised Land.)

Just as we will suffer through the consequences.

When GOD gives you instruction it must be followed to a “T”!
No “ifs”, “and’s” or “idiotic excuses!”

Read the details in HIS WORD… HIS instructions and follow them.

And yes, my favorite verse still applies…

Matthew 6:33 Seek the KINGDOM of GOD above all else, and live righteously, and HE will give you everything you need.

Simple, yet so profound in its truth.

Trusting and obeying JESUS will cause us to thrive in ‘25!

JESUS Loves you and so do I!
