What ignites your art?

The 2025 Chengdu Biennale has chosen a theme that’s both poetic and provoking — “Fireworks Index.” It asks us to consider the burst of thought, the intensity of a moment, and the impact of temporary beauty in our creative lives.

Art doesn’t always last forever.
But it doesn’t have to.
Like fireworks, some ideas are meant to flare up, inspire, and fade—leaving behind their trace in memory, not permanence.

Sojourner, when was the last time your creativity felt like a spark?

🧨 Was it loud? Soft? Messy?
💭 Did you chase it? Did you ignore it?
🎇 Did it light up something inside you?

Sometimes, we try to perfect every piece.
But sometimes, all we need to do is ignit the fuse

“Art Lives in the Unexpected”

Where do you go to find art?

We often expect it in grand museums and framed halls. But sometimes, it hides in the quietest corners — a lock museum, a museum of rice, even a space for modern misfits and broken pieces.

In Seoul, art doesn’t stay in one shape. It becomes memory. It becomes absurdity. It becomes home.

Each of these museums reminds us:
You don’t need to be conventional to be meaningful.
You only need to tell your truth — no matter how strange, nostalgic, or broken it seems.

So maybe your art isn’t mainstream. Maybe your journey doesn’t follow the perfect arc. But maybe — just maybe — it’s exactly what someone else needs to see.

Dare to make it.
Dare to honor it.
Dare to exhibit it — even if only to yourself.
