PETA-UK CENTRAL MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT SETS A ONE WEEK ULTIMATUM FOR PETAUKE TOWN COUNCIL TO RELOCATE VENDORS
Yesterday on Petauke Pasme Radio station, the MP instructed the local authority to relocate the displaced street venders within a week to prevent any backtracking.
Furthermore, Hon Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda discussed various topics, that includes street venders who were displaced on Monday, shortages of mealie meal, CDF grants, and the developmental projects in his constituency. It was at this same program were he gave local authorities a week to relocate the displaced street venders to a suitable conducive location with good sanitation facilities, Only then will he approve their removal, failure to that, the local council should allow venders to return at there old respective trading spots, This follows after the local authority in the early hours of Monday removed the street venders by force from Katambalala market in Petauke.
The honourable additionally urged displaced venders to establish co-oparatives which will enable them to faciliting access to CDF funds, The honorable expressed readiness to cover the certificate fees for all the will be formed co-oparatives.
During the radio program also, Mr Banda revealed that from 2021 till to date, numerous projects have been undertaken in Petau-UK Central Constituency comprising of 29 1x2 Classroom class blocks, 26 health posts, 110 boreholes, maternity waiting area toilets, rehabilitations and the donation of 200 mattresses and 200 blankets at Petauke District Hospital, Some of these projects have been completed and some are still under Construction, He stated that these initiatives are founded by CDF funds and by goodwill lobbying.
Speaking at the same program the Honourable further encouraged, Petau-UK journalists not to shy away from reporting and bring attention to real issues affecting the local communities.
