🏁 If there’s one word that sums up Maverick Vinales’ MotoGP journey, it’s journeyman. Since debuting in 2015, he has raced for Suzuki, Yamaha, Aprilia, and now Tech3 KTM—winning grands prix with all but KTM so far. The only manufacturers missing from his résumé are Honda and Ducati. Interestingly, Vinales came close to joining Ducati in 2018, when he was offered Jorge Lorenzo’s vacated factory seat alongside Andrea Dovizioso for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. But persuaded by his entourage, he stayed loyal to Yamaha, a decision he now openly calls the biggest mistake of his career.

🔴 While Ducati evolved into MotoGP’s dominant force, Vinales’ path took some dramatic turns. His relationship with Yamaha imploded in 2021, ending in an early exit that cost him a huge chunk of a lucrative contract. Fortunately, Aprilia offered him a fresh start, first as a stand-in for the final races of 2021 and then as a full-time rider. His stint peaked with a historic win at COTA in 2024, making him the first rider ever to claim premier class victories with three different manufacturers.

✨ Now in 2025, Vinales is taking on the KTM RC16 challenge with Tech3. Although he scored a podium in Qatar, a tire-pressure penalty relegated him to 14th. Reflecting on the Ducati opportunity he passed up, he admits he’ll never know how things might have turned out—whether he’d have been a multiple champion or suffered misfortune. But he insists he’s proud of the evolution his career has taken, valuing peace of mind and family pride over regrets: “When you are in harmony and calm, everything goes well... and now I really want to win.”

🏁 Aprilia has reportedly made contact with Enea Bastianini as a backup option if their contract row with Jorge Martin ends with the reigning champion leaving for 2026. Sky Italia claims the manufacturer has already approached Bastianini, though any move depends entirely on whether Martin departs. Pramac Yamaha is also said to be monitoring Bastianini’s situation, adding further intrigue to a rider market that has been shaken up by Martin’s uncertain future.

🤝 Bastianini, who was replaced by Marc Marquez at the factory Ducati squad this season, moved to Tech3 KTM in search of a fresh start but has struggled to recapture his past form. He has consistently lagged behind his teammate, Maverick Viñales, as well as the factory KTMs of Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder. So far, a seventh place at the Circuit of the Americas remains Bastianini’s best result aboard the RC16.

🔥 If Martin leaves Aprilia, a prized spot at an Italian manufacturer could open for Bastianini. Martin insists he has triggered a contract clause allowing him to go, but Aprilia strongly disputes this, and CEO Massimo Rivola has threatened legal action. While Martin remains sidelined with injury, Aprilia has still found success—Marco Bezzecchi delivered a breakthrough victory at Silverstone. Martin is set to miss Sachsenring but could return at Brno before the summer break.

Here's the other side of the garage of Brno testing 2 days ago with Augusto Fernandez. A lot of rumours regarding that bike Augusto was riding. Could be a V4 or still their usual I4. Not confirmation as of yet.
