A 14-year-old female juvenile from Woodbridge was arrested following a confrontation with officers in the area of Dumfries Rd. and Tallon Dr. early Thursday morning. Authorities responded to a dispute involving several juveniles when the situation escalated.

According to police, the juvenile attempted to flee, running into traffic on Dumfries Rd. She was detained shortly after but reportedly became combative while in the police cruiser. The accused kicked a cruiser window and then physically assaulted two officers—kicking one and biting another.

The injured officer sustained minor injuries. The juvenile was re-secured without further incident and has been charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, and destruction of property.

She is currently being held at the Juvenile Detention Center. Her court date is pending.

An 18-year-old man from Manassas was struck and killed by a train near Manassas Drive earlier today, according to the Manassas Park Police Department.

Authorities responded quickly to the scene and removed the body from the tracks. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is now handling the next steps, including determining the official cause and manner of death.

Police are not releasing the young man’s name yet, out of respect for the family. Investigators are still working to understand exactly what happened and whether any witnesses were present.

Train service in the area was temporarily halted during the emergency response but has since resumed.

A late-night confrontation at the Somerset Point Apartments in Gainesville led to a frightening incident involving a firearm. A 45-year-old man reported being approached by an unidentified suspect who brandished a gun and ordered him to lie on the ground. Both individuals left the area shortly after. Moments later, a gunshot was heard, and a white sedan was seen speeding away. Officers recovered a shell casing from the roadway, but no injuries or property damage were reported.

Suspect Description:

Black male, about 40 years old

Approximately 5’9″, 250 lbs.

Wearing a ski-style mask, white long-sleeved shirt, and black sweatpants

Had dreadlocks
