I spent about $87 putting together a care package for someone I met through a crafting group after she mentioned she was going through a rough month and struggling with groceries and supplies.
After work, I picked up essentials like vegetables, pasta sauce, chicken, snacks, and fruit—just things I thought would help take some pressure off. I dropped it off at her apartment the next morning and she thanked me, which made me feel like it had helped in a small way.
A few minutes later, she messaged again saying she appreciated it but asked if next time I could get different brands and more specific items, including organic and name-brand products.
It honestly caught me off guard because I had put thought and effort into helping, and the follow-up felt more like criticism than gratitude.
It’s made me reconsider how much I’m overextending myself in these situations, and I’m thinking about stepping back a bit and focusing more on my own boundaries.

Should be illegal for sh*theads to stand and beg on corners like this. Dips**ts give them food and whatnot just to ease their own anxiety and the whole time it’s all a fu**in scam by lowlife dregs who just leave the s**t on the corner. Stop giving those people stuff it only gets left behind and creates a mess in our neighborhoods. My area is clean and neat, I dont live in a s**thole and I don’t want those f***s turning it into one, just fu**ing stop giving them stuff. the scammers want your money, they aren’t hungry and in need they are tricksters that count on your stupidity

my ten year old just turned a full month of grocery money into a literal candy store explosion and somehow I’m supposed to stay calm about it. Walk into the house after work thinking I’m about to see actual food for the week and instead the couch is covered in sugar like it’s Halloween times a hundred. Gummies, sour sprays, chocolate bars, drinks stacked like he’s running a convenience store, and not a single real meal in sight.
The list I gave him was SIMPLE. Bread, milk, eggs, maybe some chicken, basic survival stuff. And this kid really said yeah no and went full CEO of candy chaos. I’m standing there staring at bags of nonsense while he’s smiling like he just pulled off the biggest glow up shopping spree ever. Meanwhile I’m doing the math realizing he wiped the whole EBT balance like it was nothing and now the house has zero actual food.
So I told him straight up, since you wanted candy so bad, that’s what you’re eating. No real meals, no cooking, nothing. You made this choice, now live in it. I even stacked all the candy in his room and told him don’t come asking me for anything else because clearly this is what you thought we needed. And when he started getting upset saying he didn’t know, I just looked at the empty fridge and told him to figure it out because now we ALL have to deal with it.

Feeling conflicted about a neighbor's "front yard attire." 🧐 Would this bother you, or should I just look the other way?
I’m all for people enjoying their own property, but today really tested my patience. A neighbor spent the whole day working shirtless in his front yard while everyone was out enjoying the weather. With kids riding bikes and neighbors walking by, it just felt inappropriate for a "front-facing" space. I put in a formal complaint because it made me so uneasy, but I’m curious—is this a standard "unwritten rule" in your neighborhood, or do people just do whatever they want? How do you handle it when a neighbor’s behavior makes the whole street feel "off"?

Is this "blocking" my driveway, or am I being a 'Karen' about public street parking?
I just moved into my new house this weekend, and this was my welcome gift from the neighborhood. I came out to find this white car parked squarely across my dropped curb (the grey car is mine).
When the owner came back, I politely asked him not to block the access. Instead of apologizing, he doubled down.
His argument: "It's a public road, and you can technically squeeze out, so I'm allowed to park here."
He is convinced that unless he physically traps my car inside, he isn't doing anything wrong. I didn’t want to start a war during my first week here, so I let it go, but I’m fuming.
Is he right about the "public property" rule, or is this guy totally out of line?

Paid for grocery delivery… came home and my stuff had been sitting outside for five hours.
And not just dry goods either. Milk, eggs, meat, all the stuff that definitely shouldn’t be left out in the heat.
At that point it’s not even delivery anymore, it’s groceries slowly cooking on the porch.
No knock, no message, no heads up. Just dropped off and forgotten like it’s nothing.
Now I’m standing there looking at everything like… what am I even supposed to trust here?
Because yeah, I’m not trying to gamble with food that’s been sitting out that long.
That’s the frustrating part. You pay for delivery specifically to avoid situations like this, and now I’ve got a full order I can’t even use, plus the headache of dealing with refunds.
I already reported it, because there’s no way that should be acceptable.
Be honest, are you tossing everything or risking it and keeping some of it?

Our group dined together and incurred a bill of $500, to which we added a $40 tip. Although we were pleased to have been able to show our appreciation for the server, her response was unexpectedly negative. She indicated that she had anticipated receiving at least $120. When we requested to speak to the manager, she claimed to have been joking, yet her demeanor remained stern. Is $40 an adequate tip for a $500 bill, or was our server's expectation unrealistic?
