West Dorset Road Safety Community Dorset residents page to flag up concerning driving behaviour patterns on our local communities

We represent ordinary members of Dorset communities who have a shared interest in the safety of their roads. We flag up incidents of poor, questionable, and unequivocally unlawful driving on the roads in these communities. Lastly this autumn, sent in to us is a van in Manor Park. Speeding & tailgating through the estate itself, and then when presented with having to wait behind the cam car which was waiting for oncoming traffic around parked cars, the van simply decided to overtake the waiting cam car into oncoming traffic. The van is marked Dorset Build and Maintenance Company Ltd.

First of a set of Autumn looneys. According to the member who sent it in, they pulled out in front of this white car safely from this junction. The driver took umbrage and began tail gating the cam car.
Further along, after-more tailgating, the driver performed a dangerous undertake at Manor Roundabout.
This dangerous driver eventually pulled into the fisherman’s huts at Ferry Bridge, Portland.

"I was travelling from Wyke to Dorchester one evening and persistently noted a van tailgating me, as well as speeding. When it was directly under streetlights I was speechless to see it was a Tesco delivery van from Dorchester.

This was reported in person to the Dorchester Store manager, who did absolutely nothing about it

This is one of the most nefarious examples of road rage noted on this page. The driver concerned takes up the story:

As I drove though Manor Park I noted a car behind me. Nothing unusual until I turned off the road in to another. The car behind closed right up close rather than going around me on a totally clear road. I thought no more of it as the car continued normally up the initial road. I lived close by and parked on my drive.

As I got out, I could not believe my eyes when the same car LO62KLZ, was now outside my property. The driver had circled around the estate in the hope of hunting me down. He wound down his window and yelled why I looked at him! I had actually barely noticed him when he tailgated, but he clearly was aggrieved he had to slow down.

Beware of this driver's behaviour should you cross paths.

Spring sees a members report of a driving school speeding through Charminster, Dorchester no less.
FINAL-EE driving school (https://www.finaleintensives.co.uk) entered a 40mph zone following the members car. The member drove at a constant 40mph, and yet the driving school car caught up within this zone within just 60secs.
