The Salford Quays Lift is a 91.2 meter long bridge erected along the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The bridge is near the end of the canal at the old Manchester pier, which connects Salford Castle to MediaCityUK and is 18 meters high, allowing large ships to pass below. The Salford jetty was built by Christiani & Nielsen as a general contractor, with a construction cost of approximately US $ 7.5 million at the time.
