Good morning, friends 🌻

📖Today’s reading was Isaiah 46–48, and let me tell you — these chapters were powerful! God was reminding His people (and honestly, me too) that He alone is God. No idol, no man-made thing, no “plan B” can compare to Him.

In chapter 46, He talks about how the idols people worship have to be carried — but our God is the One who carries us! From birth to old age, He says, “I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” That hit me deep this morning. We don’t have to hold everything together… He’s already doing that. 🙌

Then in chapter 47, Babylon gets a reality check. All their pride, comfort, and self-reliance couldn’t save them. It’s a good reminder that God doesn’t share His glory — and when we try to take credit for what He’s done, He’ll humble us quickly.

And chapter 48? Whew. God reminds Israel that even though they’ve been stubborn, He’s refining them — not destroying them, but purifying them for His glory. That’s the kind of love only God gives — patient, merciful, and refining.

So today I’m sitting with this thought: Am I letting God carry me, or am I still trying to carry everything myself?

💬 What’s one thing you need to hand back over to Him today? Drop it in the comments — let’s encourage each other.

Y’all, I’ve been reading Isaiah 43 through 45 this morning, and whew — God really reminded me who He is and who we are in Him! 🙌

In chapter 43, the Lord says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine.” That just hit me. No matter what we go through — the fire, the flood, the heartbreak — He’s right there with us. He doesn’t promise that we won’t go through it, but He does promise we won’t be alone.

Then in chapter 44, He talks about how silly it is to trust in idols — things made by our own hands — instead of trusting in the One who made us. That made me think about all the “modern idols” we can have — social media, money, people’s opinions — and how easy it is to put them before God without even realizing it.

And by the time I got to chapter 45, I was just amazed at how powerful and in control God is. He’s the One who opens doors no man can shut and shuts doors no man can open. He even says He’ll use whoever He wants — He used Cyrus, a pagan king, to bless His people and carry out His plan. It’s a reminder that God can use anyone, anywhere, anytime to get His purpose accomplished.

So if you’re in a season where things don’t make sense, or you’re waiting for a door to open, remember — the same God from Isaiah 43–45 is still working today. 💛

👉 if you are reading along, what is one verse from these chapters that stood out to you? Drop it below — let’s talk about it together!

🌿 Isaiah 40 – Comfort for God’s People

Isaiah shifts from warnings of judgment to a message of hope and restoration.
• God tells Isaiah to comfort His people—their punishment is ending, and forgiveness is near.
• A voice cries in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord.” This points to John the Baptist preparing the way for Jesus (fulfilled in the Gospels).
• God’s greatness is described vividly—He measures the waters, sits above the earth, and calls the stars by name.
• The chapter ends by reminding Israel (and us) that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength, mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, and walk and not faint.

🕊️ Theme: God is powerful, eternal, and compassionate toward His people.

🔥 Isaiah 41 – The Lord’s Assurance to Israel

God calls the nations to listen as He declares His sovereignty over history.
• He reminds Israel that He chose them and has not forgotten them.
• Famous verse: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.”
• God promises to strengthen, help, and uphold His people with His righteous right hand.
• Idols and false gods are shown to be worthless and powerless.
• God raises up a conqueror (often interpreted as Cyrus the Great) to fulfill His purpose, proving He controls kings and kingdoms.

🕊️ Theme: God reassures His people—He is their helper and deliverer, while idols are empty and powerless.

✨ Isaiah 42 – The Servant of the Lord

This chapter introduces the Servant of the Lord, a prophecy of Jesus Christ.
• The Servant is chosen, filled with God’s Spirit, and will bring justice to the nations.
• He will not shout or break the bruised reed—He comes in gentleness and mercy.
• God promises to make Him a light to the Gentiles, opening blind eyes and freeing prisoners from darkness.
• The latter part calls Israel to praise the Lord, but also rebukes them for their spiritual blindness and deafness.

🕊️ Theme: The Messiah brings justice, light, and restoration to all nations, while God’s people are called to open their eyes and return to Him.

Isaiah 37 – God Delivers Jerusalem

King Hezekiah receives a threatening letter from King Sennacherib of Assyria, who mocks God and warns that Jerusalem will fall just like other nations.
Hezekiah takes the letter to the temple and spreads it before the Lord, praying for deliverance and for God’s name to be honored among the nations.
God responds through the prophet Isaiah, assuring Hezekiah that Sennacherib will not enter the city, shoot an arrow there, or build a siege ramp against it.
That very night, the angel of the Lord strikes down 185,000 Assyrian soldiers, forcing Sennacherib to retreat to Nineveh, where he is later killed by his own sons.

Isaiah 38 – Hezekiah’s Illness and Healing

Hezekiah becomes deathly ill, and Isaiah tells him to set his house in order because he will die.
Hezekiah turns his face to the wall and prays earnestly, weeping before God.
God hears his prayer and sends Isaiah back to tell him that He will add fifteen more years to Hezekiah’s life and defend Jerusalem from the Assyrians.
As a sign, God causes the shadow on the sundial to move backward ten steps, showing His power over time itself.
Hezekiah writes a song of thanksgiving, praising God for sparing his life and teaching him humility.

Isaiah 39 – Hezekiah’s Pride and Prophecy of Babylon

After Hezekiah’s recovery, envoys from Babylon visit him, bringing letters and gifts.
In pride, Hezekiah shows them all his treasures, silver, gold, spices, and weapons—everything in his palace.
Isaiah confronts him and prophesies that a future generation will be carried off to Babylon, and that some of Hezekiah’s descendants will serve as eunuchs in the Babylonian king’s palace.
Hezekiah responds, “The word of the Lord is good,” accepting the prophecy, though it shows his focus on short-term peace rather than long-term consequences.

Themes
• God’s sovereignty over nations and armies
• The power of prayer in times of fear and crisis
• Human pride and the danger of misplaced trust
• God’s mercy to those who humble themselves
