Ep Sixty Fiiiiiive baby 🫃

This week Jake probes Tom about his love life. Tune in to hear a man swat away invasive emotional questions in an effort to never discuss his feelings ever. Like a real man. The boys discuss:
- The commonwealth is bulletproof to racism.
- Veganism is an imperfect practice
- Nosy coworkers
- Oversharing bosses
- Autism is a tough, tough slog
- State of Origin predictions (recorded pre-origin

Ep 64 – Bruvs’ on the Spectrum

As we hit the halfway point of 2022, it’s time for those of us in Queensland to break out every single item of warm clothing we have to stave off the tropic tundra of sub 24-degrees. Can I get a “Brrrr” for these Baltic boys?

But like a woodland creature preparing for the harsh winter, we continue to forage mediocre banter and random anecdotes to keep you entertained through hibernation.

This week, the boys mourn the demise of the late, great, Ray Liotta (Goodfellas, Place Beyond The Pines) as well as cricket legend Andrew Symonds. As has also become the status-quo, we give a rundown on what’s been happening in the past week, including Tom’s venture to the Teneriffe festival, our favourite moments we’ve shared with nightclub seccy’s, and we also FINALLY chat about Love On The Spectrum (unfortunately, no longer streaming on Free To Air).

Join us this week for a mixed bag of miscellaneous mishaps from two miscreants you’ve come to know and love…well, maybe not love, but you clearly tolerate us if you’re reading this. And that’s all we can really ask for xo

HUGE NEWS 🚨 🚨 🚨

OTAT takes a cosmic shift in concept, we’re no longer reviewing free to air television. We’re embracing our inner Tony Soprano and just gabba goulin’.

Some times life throws a lot of at you, we’re always taught to confront adversity head on, but sometimes it’s easier to just dodge it, duck it, dip it, dive it and most importantly, dodge it.

This week the boys did exactly that. Jake and Tom joined a dodgeball tournament and spent the lion’s share of an afternoon pelting Styrofoam balls at victims unaware of the tidal wave of testosterone and rage that the boys harness. We take ALL sports seriously, especially those that are played socially and for charity.

So treat this episode like life, and grab us by the balls.

No YouTube this week, Jacob vaped too hard and permo-steamed up the camera 😞

Ep 61 - COMPASS (Instagram Utopia)

Ever wondered how the influencer heavyweights of social media live on a day-to-day basis? Yeah, we don’t really care about those clout chasing yuppies either.

But in the interest of journalistic integrity and due diligence, we watched “Instagram Utopia”, an episode from “Compass”.

Compass is a news-documentary programme presented by Geraldine Doogue, that is devoted to providing information about faith, values, ethics, and religion from across the globe.

It took all the effort in the world not to turn our nose up at every vain proverb they uttered as if they are the messiah. But we didn’t hold back from teeing off on this w***y lifestyle and it’s subjects.

Jump on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube to catch the latest episode of On the Air Tonight.

BREAKDOWN
1. Tom went to Cairns
2. Tom now collects dust on a polite man's mantle piece
3. TAC PAPC reviews
4. Cats and the Cradle breakdown
5. Instagram Utopia

EP 6️⃣0️⃣ LIVE !

S*x: the final f**ktier. A subject that is considered taboo by society. From your birds and bees chat with mum and dad, to safe words with your dom, s*x can be a precarious conversational minefield to navigate.

Thank goodness we have Luke McGregor of “Luke Warm S*x” (streaming on ABC iView). LWS is an Aussie comedy docuseries that takes on the subject of body image and s*xuality, in the hopes of breaking down insecurities and misconceptions about the dance done on the discovery channel.

Before lubing up and penetrating this content, the boys yarned about their Easter break, gigs, and our visit to the Bavarian Bier Café at The Barracks.

Tom nearly got ripped off at a Midnight Oil concert, while Jake won himself a diabetic king’s ransom of chocolate.

Some interesting stuff discussed this week, all surrounded by the nonsensical tangents and random stories that you’ve come to expect from these two knuckleheads.

Come get s*xy with us, and listen to episode 60 of On The Air Tonight.

Ep 59 - MAFS 2022

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN

We wouldn't be doing our jobs if we didn't talk about the highest rating show on free to air television.

Say what you will about this toxic, soul-crushing, relationship-ruining nightmare-circus parading as an altruistic social experiment. You can't deny its preeetty FUNNY.

No one is safe when we break down the worst and worst of MAFS 2022.

BUT NOT BEFORE WE COVER
- Blutes Karaoke bar goes even further downhill
- Louis CK won a grammy
- Going to prison is just cancel culture gone too far

LOVE YA SPUDS

EP 58 – The Oscars featuring KEITH SLIMCOCK (aka goon king) (aka Reece Herrick)

KEEP MY WIFE’S NAME OUT YOUR F*****G MOUTH!!!

Unless my wife’s name is On The Air Tonight, and last time I checked…I don’t have a wife.

THIS WEEK we have a very special guest. He goes by many names, including Goon King, Keith Slimcock, Pebbles, Quadzilla…but for now, let’s just call him Reece.

Reece is a longtime Free-To-Air Fighter, and passionate member of the OTAT Community. He’s been pushing for the job of ‘Show Producer’, but while we wait on HR to put together the relevant tax forms and position description, we invited Rice (another alias) onto the show as an honoured guest.

Reece joined the boys to re-tell anecdotes from his rich tapestry of tales known as the “Goon Chronicles”. From his high school haydays, to sharehouse shenanigans, Reecey has seen a lot. We also got his expert opinion of 2022 Academy Awards (streaming on 7 Plus), and he gave his educated analysis on the slap heard around the world.

She’s a longer ep, but we hope you have as much fun tuning in as we did recording.

Ep 57 – Tom’s Dreams and ‘Educators’

The boys are back after another little week off the mics!

This week on OTAT, we get deeper than a trench named Mariana. Tom breaks down some recent dreams, and Jacob becomes the most prolific therapist to tent their fingers pretentiously. We also found some time to talk about ‘Educators’ (streaming on SBS On Demand) starring old friend of the show, Rick Donald.

Here’s a quick summary of the 57th Ep:

-       GC v BNE
-       Tom loves ‘Hallelujah’ (the Leonard Cohen Version)
-       Tom gives a play-by-play on his recent dreams
-       Jacob plays Dr Freud to Tom’s night terrors
-       Weekly review
-       Watching “Educators”

So grab yourself some rorschache paintings, curl up into the fetal position, and dive into the psyche of one half of OTAT as well as our thoughts on ‘Educators’

EP 56 – SHANE WARNE TRIBUTE

How goods this year been hey….

A pandemic looms over us, World War is threatening, a natural disaster is ripping apart the east coast of our nation, and I called a co-worker “Mum”. Things really couldn’t get much worse, until we lost an Aussie icon, a cricketing legend, and a cult figure.

This episode we pay tribute to the late, great Shane Keith Warne, who many label as the greatest cricketer of all time. We watched “7:30 Special: The Shane Warne Interview” (now streaming on ABC iView), where journalist Leigh Sales sits down with Warney to talk moments in his career, his relationships, the culture of cricket currently, and his regrets in life.

We also kept to true OTAT form by deviating from Shane to yarn about 9 Lives Music Festival, which ya boys attended over the weekend to distract themselves from the loss of a giant.

So slap on some zinc, grab a VB and a buttered bread roll, and tune in for this week’s episode of On The Air Tonight.

Vale Warney

Ep 56 available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
