"For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there"(James 3:16). All throughout scripture, God commands us to love. In fact, 1 Corinthians tells us that love is the greatest thing. Love is all that matters on this earth, and it's all that will last in eternity. But do you realize that we are protected when we walk in love? When we are selfish or self-seeking, the scripture tells us that it opens the door to confusion and every evil work. But when we walk in love, when we choose to put others first, when we choose to be patient and kind and walk in unity, we are protected by love. We close the door to the plans of the enemy in our lives. Today, check your love walk. Read 1 Corinthians 13 and see if you emulate the characteristics of love. Remember, love is not a feeling; it's a choice. When you choose love, it's like you are covered by a force field of protection that cannot be penetrated.

Anytime God is about to take you to a new level you're going to face opposition. There will be new battles to fight and new obstacles to overcome. It's easy to get discouraged and think, "Why is this happening?" But we have to change our thinking and focus on the fact that on the other side of those challenges is a new level of victory, a new level of success. David would only be known as a shepherd boy if it weren't for Goliath. David’s enemy became the tool that God used to promote him. And God will do the same in your life today. He'll use those challenges and difficulties in your life to catapult you towards success! If you are going through a hard time today, if things look impossible, don't give up now. Change your perspective and believe that God is working behind the scenes. Put a smile on your face and stand in confidence knowing that you are a child of the Most High God. When all is said and done, you’re not just going to come out of that difficulty, but you're coming out stronger, wiser, and better than you were before! That problem is going to be the catalyst for God to open supernatural doors of opportunity for you! Stand strong in the Lord today and trust that what the enemy meant for your harm, God will turn around and use to your advantage. He’ll take you places you never dreamed and cause you to rise higher and higher in every area of your life.

"…choose for yourselves this day whom will you serve…"(Joshua 24:15). Every day, we make thousands of choices. Some choices have more impact on our lives than others. Some require more thought. Some may even require the input of others. Making Jesus the Lord of your life is the best choice you could ever make! However, once you do, you have the opportunity every day to make choices to support that choice. For example, are you choosing to serve the Lord with your attitude? Are you choosing to serve the Lord with your finances? Are you choosing to serve the Lord by what you say? What you watch on TV? What you listen to?
Encourage yourself to examine your thoughts and actions. Choose this day to serve Him in every area of your life. As you submit your ways to Him, He promises to direct your steps. Remember, He has good things in store for your future. He promises to empower you to live the life of victory as you choose Him each and every day.

: It's difficult to look ahead far enough to realize everything that God has waiting for us in eternity. Most of us have a tough enough time planning ahead to next week. Thinking about things like that can be scary, no matter how hard we try. Perhaps we should adopt the outlook like the Hebrews, who didn't complain even when their possessions were taken away from them for being Christians, because they knew they had something far better waiting in heaven. As Christians, we believe we could live in a much different manner if we were truly aware of everything waiting for us in heaven. So let's adjust our thinking to get a heavenly perspective on our earthly lives.

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior"(Habakkuk 3:17-18). We all face challenges, difficulties, and times when things don't go our way. God doesn't send these storms, but He will allow us to go through certain things in order to shape our character and prove our faith. Really, it's in our times of difficulty that we grow and develop. God wants to use the tough times in our lives to do a work in us. He wants to strengthen and develop us. Our attitude in times of adversity is the evidence of our maturity. Are we going to treat people right even when we’re being mistreated? Are we going to stay full of joy even when the bottom falls out? Are we going to be faithful even in the dry seasons of our lives when we don't see anything good happening? It may take more effort. You may have to work harder to keep a good attitude, but remember, attitude is the key to your promotion. As you keep that positive attitude of faith and expectancy, even in times of adversity, God will deliver you and move you forward into the destiny He has prepared for you!

"For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries"(I Corinthians 16:9) Are you walking by faith or sight today? In other words, are you choosing to believe God no matter what your circumstances look like, or are you making decisions and focusing your mind on what you can see.
Remember, it's always darkest right before the dawn appears. Believe that you are about to give birth to that promise. The enemy sees the supernatural doors that are opened before you, and he will try his hardest to get you to quit, give up, and settle where you are. But if you'll just keep pressing past that adversity, if you'll keep praising, believing, and confessing God's promises, you'll make it through. You'll come out wiser and stronger, and you'll embrace every good thing God has in store for you!

Mercy triumphs over judgment" (James 2:13). We've all made mistakes. We've all made wrong choices; but as believers in Jesus, that doesn't change our heritage. God doesn't kick us out of the kingdom because we're not perfect. Maybe you don't feel like you deserve God's goodness, or you think you're supposed to suffer through life and just endure that problem. But friends, this is what mercy is all about. His mercy will renew and restore you if you receive it by faith today. No matter what you may have done wrong, you are still the apple of God's eye. You are still His most prized possession. You can still activate God's promises by faith today. Why don't you shake off the guilt and condemnation? Put your shoulders back and say, "I refuse to live below my privileges. I may not be perfect, but I am forgiven. I may have made mistakes, but God knows my heart is to please Him, and I am changing my ways. Even though I may have brought this trouble on myself, I'm going to stay in faith and expect God to turn it around."

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" I John 1:9. We all need a fresh start today. Even as believers in Jesus, we all make mistakes and wrong choices. The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But the good news is that we don’t have to stay separated from God in our sin. God wants us to come to Him so He can forgive and cleanse us and give us a fresh start. No matter what happened yesterday, or even five minutes ago, God is waiting for you with open arms. Don’t let the enemy condemn you and lie to you today. God is not mad at you. He loves you and longs to restore everything in your life. Confess your sins to God and allow Him to cleanse you today. Choose to forgive others so that you can receive God’s forgiveness. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep you close so that you can live a life pleasing to Him. As you draw close to God, He will draw close to you and show His great love and blessing all the days of your life.

"The godly shall be firmly planted in the land." Psalm 37:29. According to the Bible, you can't just sit on a seed and expect it to grow at the perfect moment. You have to crack the outer shell and plant the seed in order to gain a harvest. Just like a grain or other seed that is planted in the ground, you have to have your outer layer cracked to prepare for growth. This means you have to break down your previous ways of thinking and living and allow Christ to change you. When you allow that change to take place, you will experience true joy and fulfillment. The best part is that when God's timing comes to pass, you'll be ready to grow up and be productive for Him!
