The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the world premiere of Tom Cruise’s latest film, Digger, at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square on Tuesday, supporting the U.K.’s Film and TV Charity.

This was the 73rd Royal Film Performance in the charity’s 100 year history. Much like the Royal Variety Performance, the senior royals trade off attending each year. Last year’s performance was for Gladiator II, with King Charles attending.

Digger was filmed at Pinewood Studios, located in the English village of Iver Heath.

Kate wore a custom jewel-toned Jenny Packham gown, as well as the Queen Mother’s rarely seen Amethyst Sautoir Necklace for the occasion. The pearl necklace is accented with diamonds and amethysts, and was a gift from Queen Alexandra to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon upon her wedding day in 1923. It has rarely left the royal vaults; the striking piece was last worn over a decade ago, by Camilla, then Duchess of Cornwall, for the premiere of Skyfall in 2012.

The Palace has broken its “never complain, never explain” mantra to hit back at claims from Earl Spencer’s new book, “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.” The book is out next Tuesday in both the UK and the US….and this was the best possible free publicity Spencer could have gotten. 🫣

In his memoir, Spencer (Princess Diana’s youngest sibling) makes the explosive claim that King Charles told him, “Rest assured, we’ll forget Diana soon enough” in a phone call days after her death at age 36 in August 1997.

Little over an hour after the Daily Mail had published its first extract online, a statement was issued, which read: “While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and color memory in ways others do not recognize, even many years after such a loss.”

It’s right up there with Queen Elizabeth II’s “recollections may vary” in response to allegations from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in their Oprah Winfrey interview.

But did the palace… kind of get played here? This excerpt from Earl Spencer’s book is part of a serialization: the buzziest, most sensational part of the work released to the media ahead of publication to drum up publicity. And what better publicity is there for a royal-adjacent book than a salty comment from Buckingham Palace itself?

Grace Kelly’s granddaughter is engaged 💍 …and she announced it in supreme Gen-Z princess style.

Last week, Princess Alexandra of Hanover revealed her engagement to Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, her beau of ten years, in the most 2026 way possible. No palace portrait and no official statement just a few Instagram photos of a hand to the camera, a nightstand cluster, and her long-haired dachshund, Eloise, with a three-word caption: “The marriage plot.”

If her name is new to you, her family definitely isn’t. Alexandra is the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, which makes Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier her grandparents. On her father’s side, she descends from the Hanoverian kings who gave Britain its Georges, and until 2018 she was in the British line of succession.

The Norwegian royal court has announced the death of Princess Astrid, Mrs Ferner, at age 94. 🇳🇴

Considered the world’s oldest working royal at the time of her death, Astrid passed away just two weeks after her younger brother, King Harald V of Norway, and two days after attending his state funeral. She had previously served as Norway’s “first lady” after the death of her mother in 1954, until the wedding of her brother in 1968.

She was descended from the royal houses of Britain and Norway through her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, and her grandmother, Queen Maud. She was known for wearing gorgeous (yet sometimes eccentric) jewels from their collections.

She left behind five children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her beloved Chihuahua, Wilma.

The funeral for Norway’s King Harald V took place in Oslo today, becoming the country’s largest ever security operation.

The event was attended by royals and heads of state from around the globe, many of whom walked behind the late king’s coffin in a stunning, solemn procession.

Let’s look at who attended, who sent delegates, and who sparked conversation among the attendees.

Let’s talk about the letter that King Charles sent to “stakeholders” about Harry and Meghan, reaffirming their status as non-working royals… as well as the way that every outlet claiming to be exhausted by Harry and Meghan coverage are now publishing misleading, “bombshell” takes on routine palace guidance.

The missive states that the Sussexes’ position is akin to that of private citizens, with commercial and charitable interests. They remain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but their HRH styles remain “in abeyance” and are not used.

What this letter does NOT do is “put the Sussexes in their place,” as some outlets including the Daily Mail chose to paint it as.

The letter refers to “requests for Guidance” and “helping avoid doubt or confusion.” Are royal reporters actually reporting the news in an effort to help the public understand, or are they just manufacturing outrage and attention? Because those are two different jobs.

In other words, this letter was for everyone BUT the Sussexes. It was for the government officials who actually needed clarification… which the Palace provided, clearly and directly.

The British media COULD report what the letter says and move on. They could choose accuracy over outrage and engagement. They don’t.

Prince George was accompanied to the start of term at Eton College this afternoon by his proud parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales 🧑‍🎓

The future British king follows in the footsteps of his father and uncle, Prince Harry, by attending the prestigious 600-year-old school. He and his parents were greeted by headteacher Simon Henderson.

Eton’s proximity to Windsor, where the Wales family live in Forest Lodge, make it likely that George will still be able to stay close with his siblings, who continue on at Lambrook School.

Side note: pictures so perfectly staged I initially thought they were AI 🫣 no one does the “walk and laugh” photo op quite like the Waleses!
