or pressuring you knowing that you’re “smart” even though in reality,

you’re just trying so hard.

You can never blame me for who I am today.

When you’re trying your very best,

and grew up competing with others just to be an achiever that they can be proud of

and yet they still compare you to other people like

“buti pa yung anak ni ganito, ganiyan”.

Yung gustong-gusto mong sumagot na

“ba’t hindi na lang sila gawin n’yong anak”

but you can’t loudly say it

because you know what they’ll answer will hurt you more

so you just stay quiet and let it go over and over again.

It hurt so much na you’ll start to question yourself what’s wrong with your existence,

na gugustuhin mo na lang umalis at huwag nang bumalik pa.

When you grew up hearing words like,

“wala kayong utang na loob” or,

"pasalamat nga kayo binuhay namin kayo"

everytime na salungat sa gusto nila yung ginagawa mo at nagkakasagutan na kayo,

it feels panunumbat somehow

Now that you’ll realized kung paano kayo napalaking kulang sa emotional support system

it feels so draining.

Kukwestyunin mo na lang yung mundo kung bakit ganun yung nangyari sa buhay nyo.

Growing up hearing emotionally damaging words like,

“wala kayong kwentang anak”,

“kung hindi dahil sa’min wala kayo ngayon dito sa mundo”,

“matalino ka naman pero ba’t ang tanga mo sa ganitong bagay”,

“inuuna mo pang lumandi kesa mag-aral”,

“ba’t di na lang kayo lumayas”, etc.

And just ignoring it until they labeled you “walang puso/manhid na anak”.

Well, can you blame me?

I thought na kapag working na ko mas maiintindihan ko na yung reasons nila and I try harder na mapalapit sa kanila eventhough sobrang hirap mag open-up kapag hindi ka sanay na malapit sa kanila but the sa thing is that,

trauma will always find it’s way to be triggered,

na kahit anong pilit mong pagtatago sa totoong nararamdaman mo once na may masabi silang isang magic keyword na iniiwasan mong mong marinig doon mo mari-realized na you’re not healed yet,

the pain is still there.

Yung tipong isang pitik lang sa maiksi mong pasensya guguho at guguho ang pader na inilagay mo sa “manhid mong puso”.
