Tharashri, a 10-year-old girl from Jawi, had spent her day in devotion at the Waterfall Temple for Thaipusam, only for the day to end in tragedy. While crossing the road to head home, she was knocked down by a motorcycle, leaving her with a serious leg fracture.

Though she underwent successful surgery that same night, the trauma remains. Tharashri is a resilient child, but her journey to walk again will require time, physiotherapy, and immense care. Coming from a humble home—with her father working as a security guard—this accident has placed an overwhelming burden on her family.

We appeal to the community to keep Tharashri in your prayers and to stand in solidarity with her family. Let this also serve as a reminder for everyone to stay safe and alert on the roads, especially during busy festivals. May Lord Murugan grant her a swift recovery and the strength to heal.
