To understand and appreciate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it’s important to understand the legacy of his mother, Mrs. Alberta Williams King, an academic (she attended Spellman Seminary and Hampton Normal and Industrial Institute) and a social activist in her own right. Her power ultimately made its mark on her son, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, who is regarded as the most esteemed minister and civil rights leader in U.S. history, a legacy that extends beyond his untimely death in 1968. Dr. King's activism has historically been attributed to the influence of Mahatma Gandhi, but much of his leadership strategy stemmed from seeds originally planted by his mother’s upbringing. In her young adult years, Mrs. King was an active member of the NAACP, the Young Women's Christian Association and the Women’s International League for Peace. “She told me about slavery,” Dr. King wrote about his mother’s teachings. “She tried to explain the divided system of the south...as a social condition rather than a natural order. Whether you've stopped being frustrated enough to admit it or not, 2020 has brought some amazing opportunities. You may be someone that seized each opportunities that came your way and you may be someone who decided to wait 2020 out, with hopes of a better next year. ☺ You've decided to simply "sit still". Well, if this is you, I have a message...

But first, shout out to all of our 2020 risk takers! You've dared greatly just like would encourage.

For all my "sit still" sisters --- if you are still because you are at peace there. Then, girlfriend, peace be still. If you are in "sit still" mode, but you have a nagging urge to be doing something more or different. Then, it's time for YOU to get out of your way, our of your head, out of your feelings and out of your COMFORT ZONE! If you think back, you've found a lot of success outside of your comfort zone. You probably found some self-transformation there. You can probably think of how proud you were of your yourself, when you were outside of your comfort zone, making your dreams come true. My message to you...GET BACK OUT THERE! 💜😉
