On October 1, 2025, a powerful 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck the central Philippines, with its epicenter near Bogo City in Cebu province. The quake resulted in at least 69 confirmed deaths and over 150 injuries, overwhelming local hospitals and causing extensive damage to infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and buildings. The hardest-hit areas were Bogo, San Remigio, Medellin, and Tabuelan, where numerous structures collapsed, including a sports complex in San Remigio during a basketball game, leading to multiple fatalities.
In response to the disaster, a compassionate young individual took to Instagram under the handle to share his heartfelt contribution. He donated 22 Yumburgers to the affected areas in Bogo, as Jollibee did not yet have a dedicated donation box. To ensure the donation reached those in need, he personally delivered the meals to the Cebu Provincial Capitol. In his post, he expressed his admiration for Bogo’s delicacy, Pintos, and conveyed his hopes for the safety and swift recovery of the community, addressing them as "Kuya" and "Ate" (terms for older brother and sister in Filipino).
His act of kindness highlights the spirit of bayanihan (community cooperation) that is prevalent in Filipino culture, demonstrating that even small gestures can make a significant impact in times of crisis.
