The picturesque village of Güéjar Sierra sits at 1,000m in the foothills of the mountains. It's only 30 minutes from and is great for walking / hiking and even via ferrata. For a small village is has lots of pubs, cafes & restaurants. They still give out generous tapas when you buy drinks here. This tradition originates in Granada Province but is gradually dying out.

The main car park that allows overnight parking (at least in winter) and there's great campsite that's only 15 minute walk to town.
