Samples, covers, interpolations & the like from Jose James, Nicholas Payton w/ Butcher Brown, Lakecia Benjamin, & many others. How true is this statement donned upon my tee?

Here it is (BAM) & you say….!!! The official schedule for the Pittsburgh Intl Jazz Festival this weekend in our fair city of the Burgh. I’m settings things off after Samara Joy tomorrow (Friday) at the AWAACC for ‘Taste Of Jazz’ alongside Anyah Jackson & local legend on the sticks Roger Humphries. I’ll also be rocking on Saturday as part of the D’Angelo tribute with Dennis Garner + C A M 🕴🏽 & co + in-between sets this weekend w/ my UNION brethren Phillip Thompson + Keygen Bryant. The weekend activities are outside and FREE.99, so no reason not to make a cameo. Not to mention a little something for everybody on the musical front. We even have 💥🎧Kid Capri🎧💥 on Saturday night as the official PIJF after-party. Oooh wee!!!!

Beyond honored to be rocking Pittsburgh Intl Jazz Festival for another action-packed installment. I don’t think I’ve missed a year since its inception 15 years ago. The lineup is STELLAR, as always! Samara, Lalah, Terri Lyne, Erro, Bernard Purdie, Nate Smith, Sean Jones, Kid Capri & MANY more. + I’ll be sitting in for part-deux of a D’Angelo tribute we premiered earlier this year at the August Wilson Center w/ my brother Dennis Garner & a slew of amazing folk. My fellow UNIOn brethren Phillip Thompson + Keygen Bryant will also be playing sets! Did I mention that 90% of the festival is FREE.99 too? No brainer to come through in a few & take it the most delightful sounds outdoors in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh.

Today we celebrate 50 years of the iconic Jerry's Records in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Through several locations/iterations & the passing of its namesake Jerry Weber in 2022. 50 years in any business is beyond a milestone! Fun fact: My shop (720 Records) was even located within Jerry’s for several years (2009-2011) after shuttering our East Liberty locations. 𝗕 𝘂 𝘀 𝗰 𝗿 𝗮 𝘁 𝗲 𝘀 will be on the set this afternoon to musically aid in ushering in half-a-century to a wrecka stow know worldwide! Let me get a “Yes Indeed” in the comments if you’ve visited Jerry’s over the span of the last 50. & to all of those that haven’t, what are you waiting for? Worthy of a trip to our fair city to dig alone. Hope the day is grand, Chris & the amazing Jerry’s staff:)

OVERjJOYED to finally have this on wax (period) yet alone on a little rekkid! One of my most favorite flips of a cover EVER. & love the OG almost as much. My brother re-working of a Bill Withers tune w/ on goosebump inducing vocals. Folks that follow the stream know that this track takes me places! On the flip is a remix of a tune originally by my other brother w/ on vocal aid. Remix by , who also put out this limited 45. I had to cop 4 because I’m a hoarder. 😂 Get you some!
