SILVER PINES

This one immediately got my attention. Silver Pines is a 2.5D side-scrolling survival horror Metroidvania that mixes creepy small-town mystery with classic survival horror. You’re exploring, solving puzzles, managing limited resources, opening new paths and dealing with whatever nightmare is waiting around the corner. I absolutely love seeing indie games take familiar genres and do something different with them. This looks awesome.

That GTA6 extended reveal was absolute cinema. The gunplay, driving, physics, soundtrack, side activities and sheer density of this world look incredible. Rockstar somehow has this running on a base PS5, although that 30fps definitely hurts. And after all the talk about GTA becoming a life simulator, I saw Grand Theft Auto. No gas pumps required. I have officially seen enough. GTA 6 has my preorder.

The Division 2 crossplay finally has a date, and I am hyped. Full crossplay arrives this November across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, with cross-platform clans and expanded matchmaking. Red Horizon is here, Echoes of Central Park is coming, and Ubisoft is still pouring content into this game seven years later. For a game people love calling dead, The Division 2 sure looks pretty damn alive to me.

Some of you Grand Theft Auto realism nerds need to be studied. I understand wanting immersion, but at what point are we just recreating all the annoying parts of real life? Gas, oil changes, doctor visits, what are we doing here? GTA was built around chaos. If you want the full simulator experience, have at it, but give the rest of us an off switch. I already have a game where I deal with real life responsibilities. It is called being 41.

Serious Sam: Shatterverse just dropped its trailer and this looks like another one for the PvE co-op crew! Big guns, ridiculous enemies, absolute chaos, and most importantly, no rats allowed. Between all these new co-op games coming, it really feels like PvE fans are finally getting fed again. I am absolutely keeping my eye on this one because getting a squad together and mowing through hordes of enemies is exactly my kind of game.

Crimson Moon just hit my radar and this trailer has me hyped. Another PvE co-op game is on the way, and I am absolutely here for it. Between all the co-op games we have been getting lately and everything still coming, it feels like PvE fans are finally getting spoiled. I cannot wait to squad up, jump into this world, and see what Crimson Moon has to offer when we finally get our hands on it.

Gears of War E Day is going back to what multiplayer used to be about. No battle pass, no endless live service treadmill, and nearly every cosmetic can be earned just by playing the game. Complete challenges, earn your unlocks, and actually have something to show for the time you put in. There will still be some paid collaborations and special content, but this feels like a massive step in the right direction for multiplayer games.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is looking absolutely insane. The Xenomorphs are faster, more aggressive, and coming at you from every direction, and the sheer number of Aliens on screen looks like pure chaos. This is exactly what I want from an Aliens co op game. Grab your squad, load up, and try to survive when the entire hive comes crashing down on you. August 25 cannot get here fast enough. We are ready to hunt some bugs.
