It's been almost thirty years since Third Eye Blind's self-titled debut, now 6x platinum, kicked off the band's semi-charmed life. Frontman Stephan Jenkins brought a new song, "Like a Lullaby," and some vintage hits to Racket NYC for a solo FUV Live concert, hosted by Sam Sumpter. Jenkins' career-spanning selection included songs from 'Third Eye Blind,' 2015's 'Dopamine,' and 2021's 'Our Bande Apart' (their last album to date). Find videos of two songs: the brand new "Like a Lullaby" and the wistful "Motorcycle Drive By," from 'Third Eye Blind,' here:

One of the most significant events in radio history happened on this date in 1922 - WEAF broadcast the very first commercial. It was an ad for the Hawthorne Court apartments in Queens. Since then, radio has been used to pitch everything under the sun. Your assignment today is to pick a product or service and give us the song you would use to sell it. You've gotta come up with something that hasn't been done before. We're not looking for songs already used by advertisers. Hear what we spin and have your credit card ready after 9 a.m. on the Question of the Day.

Maribou State's third album, 2025's 'Hallucinating Love,' out now on Ninja Tune , is one of the most beautiful albums of this year. In a new FUV Live session, hosted by Kara Manning, Chris Davids and Liam Ivory talk candidly about the album's development (and rethink) during some challenging times for these two longtime friends.

With 'Hallucinating Love,' Maribou State seize upon light, hope, and what it means to have a new lease on life. In addition, they sent along four live songs for this session, including "Otherside," and "All I Need," recorded at their Denver show at the Ogden Theater this spring, featuring touring members Talulah Ruby on vocals, bassist and percussionist Jonjo Williams, drummer Jonny Cade, and a string quartet.

Listen now at WFUV.org or via the "FUV Live Sessions" podcast at Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Podcasts See a DJ set from Maribou State in NYC at the Knockdown Center part of Bonobo's Outlier event, on 9/26. More:

Kara Manning here: Last Wednesday, 8/20, was the 30th anniversary of the press-generated Oasis vs. Blur "Battle of Britpop" showdown — when Blur's "Country House" slipped past Oasis's "Roll With It" on the UK charts. But there's a friendlier convergence of British bands headed to the NYC area, as Oasis and Pulp return for three big stadium shows. Oasis plays MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ next Sunday, 8/31, and Monday, 9/1, while Pulp make their Forest Hills Stadium debut on 9/11. On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., both bands dominate the hour, with live recordings of Oasis from Cardiff and Manchester, and tracks from Pulp's first new studio album in 24 years, 'More' (with some vintage gems too). Plus Cast Band and Swansea Sound too. Listen at 90.7 FM, streaming at WFUV.org and in the Archives after broadcast. More:
