Trevor Noah is leaving ‘The Daily Show

The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah has announced he will step away from the anchor desk.

In a video statement shared on Twitter Thursday, Noah said that after seven years as host of the Comedy Central satirical news program, his “time is up.”

“It’s been absolutely amazing. It’s something that I never expected,” Noah said of his experience hosting the show. “I found myself thinking throughout the time of everything we’ve gone through. The Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey, more pandemic and I realize that after the seven years, my time is up.”

Noah, a standup comedian from South Africa, was a relative newcomer to American audiences when he was named as host of “The Daily Show” after Jon Stewart signed off in 2015.

“I want to say thank you to you, to you who watched this,” Noah said. “I never dreamed that I would be here. I sort of feel like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ I came here for a tour of what the previous show was and then the next thing you know I was handed the keys.”

Noah hinted that his decision to leave the show is rooted in his desire to return to more standup work.

“I spent two years in my apartment, not on the road, and when I got back out there, I realized there’s another part of my life out there that I want to carry on exploring. I miss learning other languages. I miss going to other countries and putting on shows,” Noah said.

He expressed his gratitude to his viewers, “The Daily Show” team and to Comedy Central, “who believed in this random comedian nobody knew on this side of the world.”

I’ve loved hosting this show, it’s been one of my greatest challenges and one of my greatest joys,” Noah said. “I’ve loved trying to find a way to make people laugh, even when the stories are particularly s***y, even on the worst days. We’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together.”

He did not share when his final show would be, but said he’d still be around for awhile.

“Don’t worry, i’m not disappearing,” Noah said. “If I owe you money, I’ll still pay you.”

HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Gets Intense First Trailer of Video Game Adaptation

HBO’s highly anticipated “The Last of Us” TV series has released its first official trailer on Monday, giving fans their first look at the adaptation of the popular, post-apocalyptic video game. The show premieres in 2023.

Just like the PlayStation video game, “The Last of Us” series follows a hardened survivor named Joel, played by “The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal, as he journeys across a United States decimated by a deadly disease called the cordyceps fungus. Along the way, he travels with a young girl named Ellie, played by “Game of Thrones” alum Bella Ramsey, who plays a crucial part is finding a cure for the zombie-like plague that has destroyed society.

The trailer reveal came on Sept. 26, which is nicknamed Outbreak Day in “The Last of Us” community. In the original video game, the cordyceps fungus first began spreading around the U.S. on Sept. 26. In the trailer, set to Hank Williams’ “Alone and Forsaken,” fans will recognize key moments from “The Last of Us” video game, such as Joel and Ellie escaping a quarantine zone, two collapsing skyscrapers they must traverse, Ellie riding a merry-go-round with her childhood friend Riley and Joel running with his daughter Sarah at the onset of the pandemic.

People who are infected by the cordyceps fungus turn into shambling monsters called clickers. They have mushroom-like spores sprout from their faces and develop an insatiable taste for human flesh. Unable to see, the clickers use a spine-chilling form of echolocation to hunt their prey, which you can hear in HBO’s short teaser from this morning

In addition to Pascal and Ramsey, the cast includes Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother Tommy; Merle Dandridge as Marlene, the leader of the rebel group the Fireflies; Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter Sarah, Murray Bartlett as Frank; Nick Offerman as Bill; Jeffrey Pierce as Perry; and Anna Torv as Tess. Voice actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who played Joel and Ellie in the video games, will also appear in the show in undisclosed roles.

Neil Druckmann, co-president of video game studio Naughty Dog, serves as co-creator, executive producer alongside Craig Mazin, the Emmy-winning creator of “Chernobyl.” Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan and Rose Lam are executive producers. Kantemir Balagov, Jasmila Žbanić, Ali Abbasi, Peter Hoar, Jeremy Webb and Liza Johnson are directors. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, and PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint and Naughty Dog produce.

A generational talent’: Rihanna to perform Super Bowl half-time show

US singer Rihanna will perform the coveted Super Bowl half-time show in February 2023, after declining an invitation in 2019 Super Bowl out of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.

The announcement was made on Sunday by the NFL. Rihanna posted an image on Instagram of an outstretched arm holding an NFL football.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn,” said Jay-Z in a statement; the hip hop artist’s entertainment agency, Roc Nation, is an executive producer of the half-time show. “A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.”

The Super Bowl will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on 12 February. After years of Pepsi’s sponsorship, the upcoming half-time show will be sponsored by Apple Music.

Rihanna earlier said she turned down a similar opportunity for the 2019 Super Bowl, which was ultimately headlined by Maroon 5. At the time, many artists voiced support for Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who protested police brutality against Black people and minorities by kneeling during the national anthem in 2016.

“I couldn’t dare do that. For what?” Rihanna told Vogue in 2019. “Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn’t be a sellout. I couldn’t be an enabler. There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way,” she said of the league.

Kaepernick accused the NFL of colluding to keep him out of the league, in a case that was eventually settled in early 2019.

In 2019, the NFL partnered with Roc Nation (which manages Rihanna) to help pick performers for the Super Bowl, and strategize the half-time show. The widely acclaimed 2022 show featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige.

With sales of more than 250 million records worldwide, Rihanna ranks as one of the bestselling female artists ever. Her last album was 2016’s Anti; Rihanna last performed publicly at the Grammy awards in 2018.

In the years since, Rihanna has occasionally teased her music return. Earlier this year, she had her first child with the rapper ASAP Rocky.

Hilaria Baldwin gives birth to a baby girl

Hilaria Baldwin has given birth to a baby girl.

The 38-year-old yoga instructor and her husband Alec Baldwin welcomed their seventh child on Thursday (09.22.22), and they are both feeling "overjoyed".

They said in a statement to PEOPLE: "How grateful we feel to welcome our newest little daughter into this world.

Just as magical and filled with love as every other little person we have been blessed with. Her Baldwinito siblings are so excited and all discussing who she looks the most like … we are overjoyed to introduce you to baby Ilaria."

Hilaria - who already has Carmen, eight, Rafael, seven, Leonardo, five, Romeo, four, Edu, 23 months, and Maria, 18 months, with Alec - has also taken to social media to share the news with her followers.

Alongside a video of their baby girl, she wrote on Instagram: "She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true,

DaBaby Claims He Slept With Megan Thee Stallion in New Song ‘Boogeyman’

The song, from new album Baby on Baby 2, also references Tory Lanez's alleged shooting of the "Her" rapper.

DaBaby has the streets talking. Known for his catchy lyrics and controversy, the North Carolina native is heating up the rap game yet again after alleging he was intimate with Grammy-winning rap star Megan Thee Stallion on a new track.

DaBaby released his new 14-track LP, Baby on Baby 2, which features the song “Boogeyman,” in which he claims he had a sexual encounter with MTS.

The two went back and forth on Twitter after Megan called out DaBaby for reposting a joke about Lanez allegedly shooting MTS and appearing on a track with the Canadian in a song called “SKAT.”

The discord between the two appeared to be brewing even more when DaBaby brought out Lanez for his Rolling Loud Miami set in July 2021 to perform “SKAT,” after he just performed with MTS.

“I’ll give somebody out here a million dollars if they can guess who in here,” said Da Baby when Lanez revealed himself from his mascot outfit.

Khloe Kardashian introduces son in 'The Kardashians' Season 2 premiere

Khloe Kardashian revealed the newest addition to her family during the premiere of Season 2 of "The Kardashians."

The new mom of two showed the journey to the birth of her son, who arrived just months after her ex Tristan Thompson became involved in a paternity controversy with another woman. Kardashian's son, whom she shares with Thompson and was carried by a surrogate, was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on July 28.

Her sister, Kim Kardashian, who welcomed two of her own children with the help of a surrogate, joined a nervous Khloe on the day he was born, assuring Khloe, "you're never ready, but you're ready." Kim also documented the day on her own camera.
Khloe grew emotional as she watched her newborn son be delivered.

Khloe later grew emotional and addressed the timeline of Thompson's infidelity and her son's birth.

Viewers also see Khloe FaceTime the rest of her family to introduce them to her son. For the second time, she did allow Thompson into the hospital to meet the baby.
"I've been on the fence about letting Tristan come to the hospital or not, but Tristan wants to be here so I just figured, why not let him come? I'll never get this moment back," Khloe said.

The two dated in 2016 and welcomed True in 2018. They broke up but reunited after Thompson was caught cheating. Last year, it was reported that he was expecting a baby with another woman named Maralee Nichols. A paternity test proved he was the father, yet he never told Khloe about the pregnancy. Khloe said they completed the embryo transfer for their son a few days before Thanksgiving, and she "found out about Tristan's situation the first week of December."
