*Which video game character would you want as your real-life mentor?
Ha, Joel from The Last Of Us.
*What excites you most about working on LAST SENTINEL?
Building a team from scratch, and being creative together. With a new project, you see the team really take ownership and it creates a lovely sense of purpose and autonomy; people take pride in their work.
*How do you approach balancing innovation with familiarity?
You weigh the pros and cons of time it will take to be flexible. In the motion capture world we typically like to test new processes on a non-shoot day. But if we are shooting all the time, sometimes you have to just trust the process and hope that the innovation works the way it should. We are constantly experimenting with how to make the motion capture skeleton be most accurate to the retarget rig, and how to create tools that can apply to very different scenarios.
