"A mammoth fantasy novel at first, may put one off. A great deal to invest in to be sure. But Sophie’s well structured and incredibly detailed story, builds and builds. Characters are given breathing space to develop and the fantasy element is handled very well.
Not usually my favourite genre, I must stress. But a fantastic story about families and the interactions between them , interwoven with a great plot.
