Here's Underwater's entry for 2023 Crazies.
Underwater Collective just came out of nowhere. Bunch of us hanging out, doing what musicians do best – yep, that involves a lot of drinks.
And the next thing we know, we are already planning our first-ever gig in our friend's garage. With their grandma curtains, clothes hanging everywhere, and one dog named Jill who witnessed it all (who never fails to alert us when there's a spy dog or cat passing by)
Lots of drinking sessions. Lots of equipment tests. Lots of music sessions. Slurry dreams and vague ambitions.
We didn't have any plans. We don't know what we're doing. We're just total newbs figuring things out as we go.
But there are things we experienced and know as part of different bands and gig-goers. Crappy equipment, lukewarm productions, and yes, the godforsaken sound mix. Sure, not every gig was plagued by these issues, but they were common enough.
So here we are.
We wanted to have space for musicians where they could be comfortable and know that we had their back. Where their music is gonna sound as they expected it and MORE.
Because when they experience this, they can wholeheartedly communicate and share their music, dreams, experiences, stories, and everything in between.
And maybe it will reach the audience and have a good time.
So, a win-win?
So yeah, 2023 is just the beginning.
We're super stoked for what 2024 has in store!
