To those wondering why I did not attend Raila Odinga’s State Funeral at Nyayo Stadium, allow me to clarify. I received credible intelligence from my sources within government indicating an orchestrated plan to attack and humiliate me during the event, largely because of comments I had made about Raila’s health a few days earlier.

When I spoke then, I had no knowledge that Raila would pass away. My remarks were purely political, not personal. Unfortunately, they have since been misunderstood and taken out of context.

I want to make it clear that I have always respected and admired Raila Odinga. Despite our political differences, I valued his contribution to this nation and held him in high regard. May his soul rest in peace.
