This morning the UIL released the 2026-2028 reclassification and realignment districts.

Shamrock remains in Region 2 and maintains the same teams in their district as last year

As a freshman, Jaxon Smith finished second on the Irish in tackles with 64 total tackles.

After being moved up from JV, No. 0 delivered a breakout performance in Week 4 against Sanford Fritch, recording 14 tackles.

Smith followed that effort with an impressive 20-tackle game against Quanah.

Jaxon is the first player in Shamrock history to wear #0 in football and he’s done a great job repping the new number.

Prior to suffering an injury last year, Kaleb Wilson significantly contributed to the Irish’s defense as a freshman.

Drawing comparisons to Caden Peevey in terms of on-field performance is notable; however, when such comparisons extend to character and Christian values, they become even more remarkable.

We are eager to see #33 continue his outstanding performance this next season.

The final article for the 2025 football season.

Thankful to all our coaches, players, band, and cheerleaders from JH to JV to varsity. All of you guys put in the work and effort that made our community proud.

Writing for the final time about our senior class was tough. This is the first group I’ve watched from junior high all the way to seniors. I will miss them.

Thank you, Michaelle Reeves Walden at County Star-News, for letting me cover the team this year. Taking over after Jim Beck had been our sports writer for so long was incredibly difficult to do.
