Subject: Urgent Clarification Needed on Cabinet Meeting with Heritage Foundation

Dear Prime Minister Carney,

Pride Radio Canada, with more than 150,000 weekly listeners across this country, is deeply concerned by recent reports that you and members of your Cabinet met with Kevin Roberts of the Heritage Foundation — the architect of Project 2025.

As you are aware, Project 2025 represents an extreme agenda that has already fueled dangerous rollbacks of rights in the United States. It has emboldened efforts to strip away protections for 2SLGBTQ+ people, undermine reproductive freedoms, and weaken democratic institutions. These are not abstract warnings; these attacks are happening right now to our friends and family just across the border.

Given Canada’s longstanding commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, we are asking:

Why did your government feel it was appropriate to grant such a meeting?

How do you reconcile this decision with your stated commitments to protect 2SLGBTQ+ Canadians and other marginalized communities?

What assurances can you provide that these harmful ideologies will not be entertained in Canadian policy discussions?

Our listeners, and the broader Canadian public, deserve clarity. At a time when many in our community feel vulnerable to rising hate, it is alarming to see Canada’s highest office engaging with figures actively working to dismantle hard-won rights.

We look forward to your response so we can report it faithfully to the community we serve.

📢 Pierre Poilievre says: “Automakers have warned Mr. Carney of the job losses and rising costs from his ban on gas-powered vehicles. We must allow people the freedom to choose.”

Here’s the problem: there is no ban on gas-powered vehicles.
✔ The policy sets targets for more zero-emission vehicles starting in 2027, aiming for 82% of new sales by 2032.
✔ You can still buy, sell, and drive gas cars after that.
✔ This shift is already happening because automakers are building for global markets, not because anyone’s taking your keys.

So why isn’t mainstream media fact-checking this? Why are politicians allowed to call something a “ban” when it isn’t?

At Pride Radio Canada, we believe in holding leaders accountable—no matter the party. Facts matter. Truth matters. Canadians deserve both.
