Did you know running your dryer just ONCE can cost up to £2 per cycle, depending on your machine?

Tumble dryers use on average from 2.16 kWh to a massive 5.34 kWh for a full load cycle, and with the average price per kWh of electricity now at 34p this could be costing much more than you think.

These machines guzzle energy in your home, so if you can, now is the time to befriend your clothes airer for drying inside.

Need to speed things up? Try putting that fan to work in winter! Using a table top, floor or tower fan would cost up to 3.4p an hour, so still much much less than popping on the tumble drier too.

🥶 Stay cool! Washing at 30°C can cut energy use in half compared to a 40°C to 60°C cycle.

🔁 Change cycles. Use an eco setting - it takes longer but will use less power and water.

⏰ Check the energy tariff. Pre-setting your machine to run in the early hours could cut your electricity costs because energy prices tend to be lowest between 10pm and 5am.

🧺 Get loaded. Two smaller half loads of clothes cost much more to wash than 1 full loads so try to only run your machine once full.
