Nothing wrong with “friendly competition” but it’s gotten out of hand. It’s ok to say “I’m not a big dog. Those big dogs you see me with barely f**k with me.” It’s ok to say “I know your s**t is going better than mine.” It’s ok to say “I wish I had your motion.” It’s ok to say “I need your help.” It’s ok if somebody gets the feature before you. It’s cool to get older, just make age appropriate music. It’s ok not to have an opp or enemy. It’s ok if 30 people come to your show. We don’t have to point out everybody’s flaws we feel are more successful than us. Nobody is obligated to do anything for you! If we can start with these few simple ideas we can move forward but until then, we will have ego fueled beefs over petty s**t. Street music will suffer as a result.
