Plarium brings acclaimed RPG ‘Raid: Shadow Legends’ to Facebook Gaming

F2P mobile and PC games developer and publisher Plarium announced that its acclaimed mobile collection RPG ‘RAID: Shadow Legends’ is now available on Facebook Gaming via Meta’s cloud infrastructure in the U.S., U.K., and Europe.

Players can sign into their RAID account on Facebook and play directly on their browser or Android Facebook app with full access to the latest feature updates, including mobile and PC cross-play capabilities and synchronized game progression across all platforms.

Mattel launches its own NFT marketplace

Mattel announced on November 21 that it has launched its own NFT marketplace called Mattel Creations. The collector and direct-to-consumer platform’s first collection will be Series 4 of the Hot Wheels NFT Garage, which is set for release on December 15.

Built on the Flow blockchain which is designed to support consumer-scale decentralized applications serving mainstream audiences, the platform will not require users to own cryptocurrency to make purchases. It will also integrate a peer-to-peer trading platform that allows collectors to trade their digital collectibles between them in early 2023.

Series 4 artwork is comprised of 60 cars from McLaren, Chevrolet, Honda, Aston Martin, Oldsmobile, Pagani, and Cadillac, as well as many Hot Wheels originals. The artwork will be sold in packs that are priced at $25 each and customers can purchase up to eight packs per transaction.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are launching a film production company

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are launching a film production company called Artists Equity. According to Affleck, who also serves as the company’s CEO, Artists Equity’s goal is to “build a creator-focused studio that can optimize the production process with shared participation in the commercial success of projects.”

Artists Equity’s first project will be a feature film about the Air Jordan brand and will be directed by Affleck with Damon in the lead role. It is scheduled for release in 2023. The company also plans to release at least five projects per year.

Damon, who serves as the company’s Chief Content Officer said that the timing is right as video streaming is expanding and online views are eclipsing box office performance as a metric of success.

‘Yomawari Neko’ to get TV anime

Kodansha’s Morning magazine and manga creator Kaoru Fukuya announced on November 22 that Fukuya’s ‘Yomawari Neko’ is getting a TV anime.

The 8-panel manga was drawn by Fukuya, who began posting it on Twitter in 2015. Kodansha began publishing the manga in 2016 and they published the manga’s ninth compiled book.

‘Yomawari Neko’ tells the story of a cat who is drawn to the scent of tears and goes to anyone who is crying to give them comfort or encouragement.

Nintendo Switch to offer new freebies tied to the Pokemon franchise to Switch Online members

Coinciding with the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Nintendo is giving away icons associated with the new games through the “Missions and Rewards” section of Switch Online.

Nintendo is releasing the icons in “waves” with the first wave being available today, with the second wave beginning on November 25 as two new icons will be released, followed by the third wave a week later. The promotion will last until December 25.

Coinchella, WSB Street to launch NFTs in conjunction with Kai Sotto’s one-night-only event in Sydney

WSB Street (World Supremacy Battlegrounds), an Australian lifestyle dance brand and Coinchella, a Web3 community-building organization together with the Adelaide 36ers have announced a one-night-only event featuring the National Basketball League star, Kai Sotto.

Happening on December 4 at the Netball Central Sydney Olympic Park in Australia, fans can get the chance to meet Kai in the special live event that features a Q&A and a meet-and-greet for VIP ticket holders.

WSB Street will provide the pre-show entertainment by featuring international dance champions such as KNB Ultra, Electro Groovers and Squad Kidz, all from the Philippines.

BTS’ Jungkook kicks off the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a new song 'Dreamers'

BTS’ main vocalist, Jungkook kicked off the festivities for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 20.

Jungkook performed “Dreamers,” the official song of the 2022 World Cup live at the Al Bayt Stadium. Performing alongside Jungkook was Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi.

‘Dreamers’ was released hours ahead of the performance and it set new records as it became the fastest official World Cup Song to hit the top spot on the US iTunes Top Songs chart.

Bradley Cooper to star in Steven Spielberg’s remake of ‘Bullitt’

Bradley Cooper has signed a deal with Warner Bros. as the actor is set to star in Steven Spielberg’s remake of the action classic “Bullitt.”

Cooper is starring as Frank Bullitt and will also serve as producer alongside Spielberg, and Steve McQueen’s relatives, Chad McQueen, and Molly McQueen. According to a report from Rotten Tomatoes, the yet-to-be-titled film is being written by Josh Singer.

Azuki announces new acquisitions at Anime NYC

Digital manga subscription service Azuki has announced acquisitions during the Anime NYC event that took place on November 18-20, 2022.

Part of Azuki’s announcements includes the exclusive license of the romantic comedy manga “Natsume & Natsume” which launches on December 2 with the first three chapters, as well as the addition of three more titles from Star Fruit Books, an indie manga publisher. It includes “Tribals,” “Toki,” and “Myosotis.”

BABYMETAL releases new song ‘Monochrome’

BABYMETAL just released a new track called ‘Monochrome,’ the group’s second single off their upcoming album ‘The Other One’ which is set for release on March 24, 2023.

The release of the second single follows the release of the upcoming album’s lead single ‘Divine Attack’ released in October 2022.

According to a report from Revolver, the J-Pop/J-Metal band’s next release will be a concept album, with each of the 10 songs representing a unique theme based on 10 parallel worlds discovered in an alternate dimension they call the Metalverse.

Anime for ‘My Clueless First Friend’ to premiere in 2023

The anime adaptation of Taku Kawamura’s ‘My Clueless First Friend’ was announced to make its debut in 2023. A website was launched to make the announcement which also revealed the anime’s main cast and staff, and teasers.

The cast of ‘My Clueless First Friend’ includes Konomi Kohara as Akane Nishimura and Shizuka Ishigami as Taiyo Takada. Attached to direct the anime is Shigenori Kageyama, while character design will be handled by Chikashi Kadekaru.

Cailee Spaeny reportedly in talks to star in new ‘Alien’ movie

A new “Alien” movie is reportedly in the works with Cailee Spaeny in talks to star in the upcoming film. The movie will be directed by Fede Alvarez with Scott Free as Producer.

While not much else is known about the upcoming project, early this year, it was reported that the film was in development. The film will also reportedly premiere on Hulu.

Regarding Spaeny’s other projects, the actress is set to star as Priscilla Presley opposite Jacob Elordi as Elvis in Sofia Coppola’s upcoming film “Priscilla”.

Nintendo has released the new trailer for its “Fire Emblem Engage” strategy RPG game, the newest title in the “Fire Emblem” game series. The trailer, called “The Divine Dragon Awakens!” gives a preview of the story, characters, and rings.

Cristiano Ronaldo enters NFT space on Binance

Cristiano Ronaldo’s very first NFT collection officially launched on November 18 as part of a multi-year partnership with blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, Binance.

The launch is supported by a global marketing campaign featuring Ronaldo which aims to give his fans an introduction to Web3 and the world of NFTs.

The collection dropped includes seven animated statues with four rarity levels: Super Super Rare, Super Rare, Rare, and Normal. Each NFT depicts Ronaldo in an iconic moment from his life.
