Do you realize that you were purposefully, lovingly, and carefully designed by God?

King David said it like this:
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Your eyes, brain, heart, muscles, nerves, fingernails, eyelashes, smile, everything.

Not only are you wonderfully complex, but you were also planned before life as we know it existed by your Heavenly Father.

Even as you read these words, your body is doing some incredible things—without your conscious consent. Your fingers are scrolling, your eyes are capturing, your brain is processing …

All the while, your heart is pumping blood, your lungs are managing breath, your eyelids are blinking away dryness, your blood cells are multiplying by the second, your brain is directing your body while simultaneously storing memory—and so much more.

David also points out in other portions of Psalm 139 that God knows everything about us, His presence is inescapable, and He thinks about us so much that such thoughts cannot be numbered.

The point? You are uniquely and intentionally created by God to love Him and the people around you—to know Him, and make Him known.

So, be encouraged. You were made for this.

“Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done.” - Matthew 6:10

Commit to the Work:

It’s a complex dance—being faithful with the opportunities God gives you while also trusting Him with the variables that are out of your control.

The writer of Proverbs, typically attributed to King Solomon, said this:

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It sounds simple enough—to commit your work to the Lord. But it takes intentional effort, continual surrender, and genuine trust.

Throughout Scripture, we see all kinds of work: farming, building, pastoring, parenting, fishing, doctoring, leading, designing, singing, writing, engineering, shepherding, and much more.

In his letter to the Roman believers, Paul discusses talents and gifts when he says:

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You can commit your work to God by:

- honoring Him with your efforts
- valuing the people you interact with
- faithfully returning the tithe
- promoting truth and love
- living graciously and generously
- thoughtfully utilizing your time
- leveraging your God-given creativity to glorify Him

You can plant a seed in good soil, position it for ideal sunlight, and water it consistently, but—above all—it’s God who gave you the seed and it’s God who makes the seed grow.

Our job is obedience, God’s job is everything else. So whatever you do, commit your work, your efforts, and your life to Him—and watch Him work through you.

Walk Worthy (4:1) - Our purpose is that God is glorified by people for all generations. Therefore, Paul urges us “to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.”

If our purpose is to display God’s glory and God be glorified through us, then there is a particular way to live our lives for this calling.

We do not get to be a Christian and act how we want to act or do what we want to do.

That is not our calling. This walk is our response to all that God has done for us, which we read about in the first three chapters of Ephesians.

We are to live lives reflecting this new identity.

You have been called to something great and glorious. Walk worthy of it!

In chapter 2 Paul condemned us because we were walking in a way that followed the ways of this world, following the plans of Satan, following the passions of our flesh, and carrying out the desires of the body and mind.

That is the former walk. Now you have a new walk.

The new walk is not to go back carrying out your desires in your body and mind. The new walk is not following your passions. Your new walk is not following the ways of this world. Now you are to walk worthy of the calling to which you have been called.

Now Paul says something subtle, but very important in this first verse. Paul says, “I therefore, a prisoner of the Lord.” Paul starts there before he tells us to walk worthy of the calling.

Why does Paul bring up that he is a prisoner for Christ at this moment?

Walking worthy is going to be costly.

Paul urges to walk in this way understanding that the walk is costly. You will not fit in with the world. Understand that trying to walk according to our calling is countercultural. How you will now behave is the opposite of what the world thinks is right or good.

[Verse 1] Blessed are the poor in spirit
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven
Blessed are those who mourn
For they will be comforted
Blessed are the meek
For they will inherit the earth
Blessed are those who hunger
And thirst for righteousness

[Chorus]
They (You) will be filled
They (You) will be filled
This is the kingdom
This is the kingdom
This is the kingdom of heaven
Ask and He will
Ask and He will
This is the kingdom
This is the kingdom
This is the kingdom of heaven

[Verse 2]
Blessed are the merciful
For they will be shown mercy
Blessed are the pure in heart
For they will see God
Blessed are the peacemakers
For they will be called children of God
Blessed are those who are persecuted
Because of righteousness
For theirs is the kingdom
Theirs is the kingdom
Theirs is the kingdom of heaven

[Bridge]
Seek first the kingdom and all will be added
Seek first the kingdom and all will be added
Seek first the kingdom and all will be added
All will be added all will be added

Servant Heart: The Greatest Of All Time ➜ Jesus made it clear that if we want to be great in this life, we must embrace the lifestyle of a servant. Just as He came to serve and give His life to reconcile us to God (aka restore relationship and right standing with God), we are also to live in service to God and others. We all have to fight against the gravitational pull of ►selfishness. It’s human (sin) nature.

We want WHAT we want WHEN we want it. To be effective and impactful servants, we have to intentionally focus on others, asking, “How can I help?” and “What do they need?”

Serving isn’t about getting credit or praise for good works.

>>>We don’t serve to get noticed.

Seeking and Finding God: In the Old Testament, God’s presence and His relationship with His people was mediated through priests and the temple system. The people of God worshiped God and prayed to Him, but it was the priests who would enter a sacred space and speak with God on their behalf.

They revered God, but they were still separated from Him.

However, the prophet Jeremiah wrote about a time when God’s people would be able to experience a direct relationship with Him. God’s Spirit would dwell in them, and they could find Him anywhere at any time.

Through Jesus, Jeremiah's prophecy was fulfilled. Jesus sent the Spirit of God to dwell within us, to have access to God’s presence at any time.

This means that God is never far from you—just like it says in Jeremiah 29:13, He can be found when we seek Him. He is present and ready for a relationship with you.

Jeremiah also says that we must seek God with all of our heart. We don't just seek God, He seeks us as well. When you pursue a relationship with God, He wants access to every part of you. The way you think, the way you act, and even the way you feel.

He wants to transform your entire life.

At first, it may seem hard to give God access to our past, or the things we’re ashamed of. But, God is full of grace and mercy, and He wants us to be free from those things. Seeking God with all of your heart may feel risky at times, but we can trust He knows best and will love us regardless of what we’ve done.

Ask God to reveal within you any part of your life that you haven’t surrendered to God. Pray for the strength and courage to give all of your life to God. Continue to seek Him and follow Him each and every day. - YouVersion Bible App
