Farm, mall, cinema, or forest. Which one do you pick first?
This is my editorial countdown, not an official ranking. 3 are in the DMV. 2 are Baltimore-area road trips.
Number 5. Cox Farms Fields of Fear in Centreville, Virginia. 3 attractions: Cornightmare, The Forest, and the Dark Side Hayride. Bonfires at the Firegrounds if you'd rather sit the scares out.
Number 4. Laurel's House of Horror in Laurel, Maryland. It's built inside a former cinema. 4 themed sections, and you walk them all in 1 go.
Number 3. The Nevermore Haunt in Baltimore. The characters are pulled from late 19th century Baltimore. Drowned sailors, factory workers, and a sideshow on top.
Number 2. Bennett's Curse in Dundalk. All indoors, 4 attractions with Halloween 3D and The Crypts among them. 2026 is its last season at the Eastpoint Mall location.
Number 1. Markoff's Haunted Forest in Dickerson, Maryland. A trail through the woods. A wagon ride to a separate attraction called The Town. Bonfires and a DJ at the Midway. And it all benefits Calleva.
