Awards are not the goal, but they affirm that Baguio is on the right track and that, despite criticisms, our city is working, improving, and moving forward with integrity.

𝗕.𝗖.𝗣.𝗢 𝗢𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 "𝗗.𝗥.𝗜.𝗩.𝗘."

Mayor Benjamin Magalong graced the Baguio City Police Office's (BCPO) OPLAN D.R.I.V.E., which stands for Discipline, Respect, Infrastructure, Vigilance, and Education, a campaign for road safety, order, and public accountability, at the Baguio Convention Center.

The seminar initiative addresses the city's increasing vehicular traffic incidents (VTIs). Anchored on the Three E's of Road Safety Engineering, Education, and Enforcement, this program underscores the importance of driver discipline, improved road infrastructure, strict law enforcement, and public awareness.

OPLAN D.R.I.V.E. seeks to prioritize the safety of all road users, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and promote safer roads for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists alike.

“Huwag na tayong manahimik.”

Sa panahon ngayon, napakaraming maling gawain, panlilinlang, at kawalang-katarungan ang nagaganap. Ngunit kung mananahimik tayo, para na rin nating pinapayagan na magpatuloy ang kamalian. Ang bawat isa sa atin ay may boses, at tungkulin nating gamitin ito para manindigan sa tama at ipaglaban ang makabubuti para sa ating kapwa.

Simulan natin ang linggong ito na may lakas ng loob, may malasakit sa kapwa, at may paninindigan sa katotohanan. Tandaan, ang pagbabago ay nagsisimula sa atin, sa ating kilos at salita, para sa ikabubuti ng nakararami.

𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽

Mayor Magalong joined fellow convenors of the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) on August 15, 2025, together with Mayor Vico Sotto and Mayor Sitti Hataman, in a courtesy call to DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

They discussed pressing national issues, including corruption in infrastructure projects like flood control. Secretary Remulla fully supported M4GG’s advocacy for honest, transparent, and accountable governance.

The group also held its first M4GG Convenors’ Meeting after the 2025 midterm elections to set the movement’s direction for the next three years. The day concluded with signing a Memorandum of Agreement with SGV and Co. to strengthen LGU capacity for innovation and accountability further.

𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹: 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹’𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 🎨

Mayor Magalong joined the “Winds of the Hill” mural project launch in South Central Aurora Hill last Sunday, August 10, led by Punong Barangay Levy Lloyd Orcales, celebrating the barangay’s rich history, culture, and vision for the future.

This vibrant retaining wall along Rimando Road will showcase Aurora Hill’s evolution from a post-war resettlement into one of the city’s most diverse communities, brought to life by 10 talented local artists collaborating with barangay officials.

The mayor also took part in the initial painting session alongside community members. The project is said to be completed within 20–30 days with the help of city funding and generous donations from private partners.—✒️MB/📷 Levy Orcales

Mayor Benjie Magalong and his wife, Arlene Magalong, interacted with Senior Citizens’ Wellness Activity participants, which featured social bingo and an energizing Zumba session at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center. Their presence brought smiles and encouragement to the elderly community, highlighting the city’s commitment to promoting active and healthy lifestyles for senior citizens.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika, mahalaga ring gamitin natin ang ating wika at kaisipan para sa kabutihan at katotohanan.

Sa panahon ngayon, laganap ang scammers, panlilinlang, at pekeng balita na nagpapalabo sa katotohanan at sumisira sa tiwala ng tao. Kaya’t maging mapanuri, mapagmatyag, at responsable sa pagbabahagi ng impormasyon lalo na mga plataporma sa social media.

Tandaan: Ang wika ay kasangkapan ng katotohanan: gamitin natin ito upang maghatid ng katotohanan, magtuwid ng kamalian at magpalaganap ng kabutihan. Sama-sama nating ipaglaban ang isang ligtas, maalam, at nagkakaisang komunidad.

Mayor Magalong led the turnover of relief goods from Smart Communications, Inc., PLDT-Smart Foundation, Inc., Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI), Metro Pacific Foundation, Inc. (MPFI), One Meralco Foundation, Inc., and Landco Pacific Corporation last Wednesday, August 6, for the recent typhoon victims.

The group turned over 500 bags of relief goods for typhoon and Habagat victims, 3 Smart Carts for livelihood support, a mobile library to promote learning, and the AI in a Box program to empower LGUs with training, devices, and a one-year ChatGPT Plus subscription.

The City Government of Baguio expresses gratitude for this partnership in helping our people rebuild and move forward.
