Profile Itsumi Taira
She graduated from Shizuoka University's Faculty of Education, Department of Music, and completed the Tokyo University of the Arts' Faculty of Music, Department of Composition. She studied under Hiroshi Otsuki, Sin Sato, and Teruaki Suzuki. She won an award in the composition category at the 11th Saitama Prefecture New Artists Concert.
She won third place in the 12th Sogakudo Japanese Song Competition, Composition Category. She won second place in the 4th K Composition Score Review Competition. She won an award in the composition category at the 34th All Japan Composers Competition, hosted by the Tokyo International Arts Association.
She won the Gold Award at the BEST CLASSICAL MUSICIANS AWARDS.
She won first place at the Jean-Philippe Rameau International Music Competition.
She Published a collection of duets for children, “The Forest of Small Animals,” and a piano solo piece, “Jazzy.”She is Member of the Japan Society for Contemporary Music and Musica de Esperanza. She has been active as a freelance composer and has also been teaching younger musicians.
