We’re entering the new year with a fresh chapter and a new theme to explore.

Vayu (Wind): The wind signifies unstable movement, coldness, and dryness. The element must flow perfectly in life to achieve stability. If the wind flows too rapidly, it can cause muscle twitching physically, unstable relationships, and a flickering mind mentally.

For the first fragment of the year, I’m excited to share with you a live set by Ten Atmospheres.

Andrea Di Francesco is a talented musician and composer from Vasto, a peaceful town in southern Italy. Blending the sounds of his surroundings with the emotions they inspire, he creates an intimate connection between life and art.

This mix features both released and unreleased tracks, each marking a new chapter in Andrea’s creative journey.

For the first fragment of the year, I would like to share with you an enchanting journey by Save Your Atoll.

"Save Your Atoll" emerged in 2019 from the creative mind of Italian artist Antonello Meloni, who resides in Sardinia. Deep sound and Techno serve as his primary language, forming the foundation of a musical expression abundant in ambient and atmospheric elements, all while maintaining a strong groove that outlines his storytelling. His tracks have been featured in live performances, podcasts, and garnered support from prominent underground artists.

2023 has been particularly challenging in many ways and Canaanite Records would like to thank you all for your support.

For the last fragment of the year, we'd like to welcome Alessandro Baroncini.

From Venice, Alessandro is an Italian DJ and producer based in the Venetian lagoon. His music blends deep, hypnotic, and atmospheric sounds, offering a captivating and easy-to-enjoy auditory experience.

‘’ In creating my music, I draw inspiration primarily from the interplay between nature and technology. Each piece reflects a distinctive sonic identity, a fusion of my evolving musical journey and the diverse sonic textures I encounter along the way. This mix captures the ‘slower’ essence of my signature sound. While putting it together, I aimed to include tracks that combine digital and organic elements in a constant alternation of ambient, breakbeat, and four-on-the-floor beats. ‘’

Our podcast series continues. Today I want to share with you another immersive journey, all tracks are written and produced by this month’s guest: Medulla Oblongata.

Based in Nancy, Florent is a distinct DJ who thrives in his musical habitat, navigating between ambient sounds and the mesmerizing beats of techno. His performances are invitations to mesmerizing experiences, enticing dancers to lose themselves in the music.

‘’ This is a live performance created for the 'Open Source' event organized by the TRÊVE and GRAVE collectives in Nancy, France. It was composed during the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The ethnic cleansing happening with the complicity of Western governments, including my own, deeply distresses me. As an artist, I find it impossible to promote my music without addressing this situation. Several tracks in the live performance were specifically composed for this occasion. The live recording will be available on my Bandcamp as a 'name-your-price' release, with 100% of the proceeds donated to UNRWA.’’

‘’ In the live performance, you can hear that the more the cassette is played, the more the tape becomes damaged, reminiscent of the poignant 'Disintegration Loops' by William Basinski. I view this unfortunate occurrence as a poignant metaphor for my mood during these tragic times."

Recently, Medulla Oblongata has brought together the talents of around twenty established artists from the ambient, deep techno, and techno scenes to create a compilation album (V/A). All proceeds from this compilation will be donated to ‘’The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)''. The release of the compilation is scheduled for early December 2023.
