Hope - so hard to find, so easy to lose.

That’s why the helmet of salvation is called the helmet of HOPE of salvation. Why? Because mentally we need protection around our mind from all sorts of stray and dangerous thoughts that corrode our hope, steal our vision, and give us a mental picture of things going from bad to worse. And things do tend to go from bad to worse if we let those thoughts take over.

BUT - putting on the helmet of hope of salvation, our mind is protected by spiritual armour that defends our mind by a barrier of HOPE. Think on the hope of the Word of God. The will of God for you and me is to shine as a light in a dark world, an agent of heaven on earth, dwelling in the peace and favour of our Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ.

HOPE - that we can see the victory that overcomes the world by our faith. That no problem is too small, or too big, for God. Involving Him in our daily life is to find peace in the midst of storms, comfort in sorrow, and courage in adversity. We know how this will end. Not on a downward slide of destruction, but as surely as the Lord lives, the whole earth will be full of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.

Keep standing! Keep overcoming. Keep believing what God has told you. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Put that helmet on in Jesus name!

Faith requires our decision to put it to work!

We might have been taught or believed something along the line that “well if it’s God’s will, it will just happen.”

However CHOOSING to believe God and His promises isn’t an automatic process, it’s a choice of our will to say “Yes Lord, I believe.”

For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
— Romans 4:3

Believing God and using faith takes more than just hearing the Lord say something, or reading a promise in the Word, it is a decision to say “yep Lord, do it t in my life”. Many may hear the Lord say something to them. But choosing to believe involves our “buy in” into it to say “alright Lord, I believe You.”

A time of reckoning in the West.

Can I raise a few things that I have been observing and thinking about?

I don’t intend to make a long speech (it is rather long sorry) but I believe the Western world could be hanging in the balance. It appears to me that Israel and Iran are trying to drag the US into an unwinnable war, which would also drag in allies. This leaves military forces spread thin to defend against expansionists or opportunists such as China and Russia who are watching the international rule of law and atomic restrictions being broken by actions of Israel and the US, so there isn’t much restraint if things get going.

Concerningly, Trump passed the AI executive orders the first thing he did in office - this doesn’t look good, especially in wake of domestic issues locally and rising civil unrest anti war or anti semitic. The laws around anti semitism are preventative of criticism against Israel and there are plenty of other Jews who do not support Israel’s actions.

An AI warlord conference (AI Expo for National Competitiveness) was held in Washington few weeks ago where big players such as Palantir (ex Google founder) want to try their robotic and Ai tech on civilians and battlefield, as some already have been doing in Gaza. The point to that summary is that I don’t trust Trump like I used to - he’s also been throwing some top advisors “under the bus” in the last week which is a concern that he’s blinded by ego or has another agenda or behind the scenes controllers.

We also have interested religious parties, some Christians want end times, Judaisers want the age of messiah and Islamics want world domination. Both Islamics and Judaism can handshake at the top (they both consider themselves children of Abraham as Ishmael and Isaac) - it’s the Christian who’s the idol worshipper to both of them.

Religious zeal or bias can provide blind spots that prevent us seeing all the things at play.

Ukraine has had a “war of attrition” meaning that it’s become ground down by an unwinnable war as though the strategy wasn’t to win but to lose, and ultimately surrender the mineral rich territory. This is also possible if we get into unclear and unwinnable wars - but would suit certain world agendas to depopulate us and also reduce resistance to new tyranny.

Several years ago I saw a depopulation agenda to reduce western world populations, mostly heavy losses in US and UK (check out Deagel website).

I’ve hit a few points I wanted to bring to the table to not make you afraid but to realise what the devil has been planning in multi fronted ways. I have been prompted by the Lord to immerse myself in the Word of God as we don’t know what’s coming next.

In recent times listening to the scriptures I’m encouraged that when the situation looked hopelsss or the city was surrounded by enemies, the righteous kings put on sackcloth and ashes and began to seek the Lord. It was then that the Lord began to deliver them from their trouble.

Almost 5 months ago I had a vivid dream where I was in military re-training for a new war, having already been at a war in previous years. The instruction was that the new strategies the enemy was using was unlike all the old stuff so we couldn’t be cocky or rely on past strategic knowledge. The troops waited in line for the troop bus, I went to the toilet for 2 minutes, and came out and saw the bus had left. I thought the dream spoke to me of me missing the moment of the Lord to go with the other saints to the battle, but it also could mean that I was not actually sent to the new war - somehow I had avoided the bus.

A few weeks ago way before any military action I had a sense of Lockdown, which means to me that trouble is afoot and to keep risks small and manageable, like we did in Covid era. Don’t do what you can’t safely risk. It made no sense at the time, and I felt the Lord was shutting me down on some other fronts. I was upset that He was silencing me but now I begin to see that there’s a time for everything, and His shadow and Wings are to cover us in times when we must hide in His protection.

God knows what’s happening, but he also wants to hear from us as we can pray to change the course of all things intended to destroy and harm His work on these nations. I want to finish well, finish my course well and have a long life. I am sure you want the same. We have to work while it is day, Jesus said. That specifically means there’s an opportunity to do what is necessary to do.

Can I encourage you to do as I’m doing to feed on lots and lots of God’s word until it becomes the biggest thing in your life. We shall be unmoved in times of trouble if we do what it says, and keep it central to our life.

The watchmen

Except the Lord has determined to preserve the city, the watchmen cannot see or determine the threats, if the Lord has decided the city shall be overthrown. No amount of watchmen could preserve S***m. It represents a man made structure or system that’s an abomination to God that we have no business staying in.

As Jesus approached a storm of death, he asked the disciples to watch with him, but they preferred sleep and so abandoned him in his worst hour. Their slumber put them at risk of complete failure and abandoning the Lord when the pressure was on. Were they resting on some fleshly confidence despite Jesus warnings that he would be crucified?

Why was COVID not foretold by major prophets? If it was, I will eat humble pie. I didn’t feel warned that the world was about to change. I haven’t been able to reconcile yet why such a world event of crisis wasn’t blasted from the pulpits or even was an alarm in my own heart from the Lord that I perceived ahead of time? I am concerned that although my response was probably suitable, my alert ahead of time was not working.

“sleep on now and take your rest” Jesus told the disciples, when they wouldn’t watch with the Master Watchman. Jesus could see the storm approaching and was praying for strength to endure, yet others were oblivious.

Why is it that we panic in the physical storms, yet Jesus is asleep in our boat, and sleep through the demonic storm when Jesus is up watching and praying?

The whole concept of war and watchmen on the city walls means that we have to be alert and have a watch, but it’s also important to know if the Lord hasn’t determined to keep the city we aren’t going to be OK. There’s nothing the watchmen can do.

If the Lord has determined to keep the city, and the watchmen are asleep, we have a problem.

Or if the Lord has determined to keep the city, and the watchmen are awake but aren’t trained by the Master Watchman (Jesus) then the watchmen will miss important observations or treat every mouse as an emergency.

Another scenario is if the Lord has determined to keep the city, the watchmen are awake and trained, and see the danger approaching, but the army are asleep or untrained, there’s still going to be collateral damage.

Rather than being the bearer of bad news, it’s imperative to be encouraged to prepare ourselves to watch with Jesus, to be trained to watch, and what to respond to.

Prayer is important to prevent us ENTERING INTO temptation. We have lots of opportunity to fall for decoys and false information and also we can find ourselves trying to defend something that the Lord is wanting to remove. We can stay locked into some risky and belligerent behaviour that puts us in danger spiritually and also physically if we aren’t closely aligned with Jesus.

We need to repent for slumber and assuming we are automatically OK because we are Christians. No, we need to re-enlist for basic training and also cross check one another and allow ourselves to be cross checked in an exhortation to draw close to Jesus and be led by him daily.

Picking up our cross means we aren’t going to keep fighting to preserve the flesh, and also means to be on about Kingdom priorities which come at a cost to our own personal agenda and comfort levels, because those things lull us to sleep and make us deaf and blind to danger. Likewise by the Cross we aren’t going to be pulled on by clever strategies of Satan getting us to react to smoke and mirrors.

I had a mental picture (or a vision) this morning of a Jewish rabbi teaching from the gospels, and showing many Christians the customs of the time and how radical Jesus teachings were in a Jewish context. Many people followed this man, as they loved to know more about the Jewish world and the profoundness of Jesus. But as time went on, the teachings began to emphasise that Jesus was an amazing prophet. And the reduction in status to Prophet was acceptable to many because indeed he was. But there was a loss of his Divinity. And that was the point I was noticing in this vision was that Christians became blindsided and confused by the results of these teachings.

All preaching must be plain and in easily understood terms, and aim for the bullseye. Praying in the Holy Spirit is essential for delivering a spiritual message that has impact. Another key is to preach out of revelation you're already walking in. The Word is to be homogenised in our life in such a way that what we deliver is to be from an overflow of that which is already at work in us. Without the fermentation process the wine remains grape juice. It needs time and aging in the vessel to be a fine wine.

The one-ness of the Body of Christ

I'm noticing that in Ephesians 3 it talks in collective terms of one-ness, us growing up into Him, we all, and other such group ideas. I believe this is a key, the togetherness of the Body of Christ.

For so long expressions have been individual, "I don't need to go to church to be a Christian". This is partly true, but missing a big reality that although our faith is personal, we are also called into unity of THE faith. Collective.

The five-fold ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are given by God to bring about a unity and maturity, and on a scale we have not seen before.

I recall the last Pope Francis had a big idea of joining all the churches together but it wasn't the joining of believers by the Holy Spirit and the five fold ministry. It was an agenda.

God's doing a grass roots movement, a groundswell of inter-connectedness as you would imagine a net to be. Lots of little crosses joining one to the other, collective strength, without rips and tears or defective connections, where personally we are called to carry the cross and die to our flesh and join with other believers in truth and love and vulnerability.

Together we are strong.
