"It's a revenge party!! With your two best (podcast) friends! It's like a party with revenge is what it's like!"

We know it's been a minute, but in spite of many delays we're finally able to share episode 4.8 where we talk about William Shakespeare's OTHELLO: THE MOOR OF VENICE. The Denzil Washington/Jake Gyllenhaal production closed last week after breaking all kinds of box office records, but we are keeping the conversation going here.

There's also a Community Voices Message from Erin "Chuck" Davies, who shares her experience playing the role of Emilia in the show.

It hasn't even been a full week yet, but we at RMP surely are feeling overwhelmed by all of the crazy coming out of the executive branch of government.

And since The Washington Post said that Heidi Schreck's play WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME is not only "Endearing and funny" but also that "it would be hard to identify a work for the theater with its finger more on the pulse of America right now... it is an act of patriotism to see it."

So if you are looking for a little hope as we are all trapped here in the darkest timeline, this play is a great source of it. Join us in our Patriotic acts of rebellion and listen to this episode as we talk about this remarkable play.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone!!

To quote our favorite Christmas movie:
"It's Christmas, Theo, it's the time of miracles. So be of good cheer, and call me when Read More Plays talks about a funny play."

Well Hans (bubby) we're your white knight! This Christmas we're talking about one of the funniest plays of all time: Michael Frayn's NOISES OFF!!! That's right, in episode 4.6 the RMP team talks doors and sardines while breaking down this comedy giant. There's also a Community Voices Message from Johanna Dunphy, who shares her experience playing the role of Belinda in the show.

Episode 4.2 was a "Reaping Play" -- AKA a show selected at random from the big list of important plays that all theater artists should be familiar with -- but Jennifer & Ricardo had an incredible time discussing Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize winning, iconic play OUR TOWN. You can see in this short clip from the episode both how meaningful they both found it, as well as how silly they get ( ).

As a bonus, there's a fantastic community voices message from writer and theater artist W. Laurie Ewer about her connection to the show.

Stop the presses!!! Huge news: It's the first Episode of season FOUR!!!!

Listen as the Read More Plays team talks about Anne Washburne's visionary and whackadoo show MR BURNS - A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY. We were fortunate this episode to be joined by the costume phenom Ms. Emmie Phelps Thompson (The Staircase, The Beanie Bubble, Roadhouse, Grand Death Lotto), which was good because Jennifer and Ricardo had zero clue how to handle the costume challenges this play throws down.

Also some big announcements in this episode! What incredible project does the artist who wrote our theme song have coming up? What play gets selected for our next episode's Reaping Play??
You'll just have to tune in to find out!

You can listen on iTunes, Google Podcasts, Spotify, on our website (readmoreplays.com), or wherever you like to get your podcasts. After listening, please share your thoughts, insights, and/or Hot Takes here!
